L. Nathan Oaklander is one of the leading philosophers of time defending the tenseless or B-Theory of time. He has remained at the forefront of this field since the early 1980s and today he is arguably the most formidable opponent of the tensed or A-theory of time. Much of the direction of the debate in this field for the past twenty years or so, especially in regards to the new tenseless theory of time, has been influenced by Oaklander's work. The recent paper of J. Harward on the seventh and eighth Platonic Epistles deserves an answer. He suggests that Plato's statement at the beginning of the seventh Epistle, that he had received a communication from the friends of Dion, is a literary fiction. Supposing then that this suggestion is correct, he maintains the view that Plato, having no knowledge of the death of Dion's son before his father's assassination in 354 B.C., refers to him as Hipparinus without qualification in the (...) seventh Epistle , and as Dion's son, giving no name, in the eighth Epistle. We study the coherence, that is the equality of canonical natural transformations in non-free symmetric monoidal closed categories . To this aim, we use proof theory for intuitionistic multiplicative linear logic with unit. The study of coherence in non-free smccs is reduced to the study of equivalences on terms in the free category, which include the equivalences induced by the smcc structure. The free category is reformulated as the sequent calculus for imll with unit so that only equivalences on derivations (...) in this system are to be considered. We establish that any equivalence induced by the equality of canonical natural transformations over a model can be axiomatized by some set of “critical” pairs of derivations. From this, we derive certain sufficient conditions for full coherence, and establish that the system of identities defining smccs is not Post-complete: extending this system with an identity that does not hold in the free smcc does not in general cause the free smcc to collapse into a preorder. In order to give a larger context to these results, we study the equality of canonical morphisms in non-free symmetric monoidal categories, and establish that w.r.t. a broad subclass of smccs, the equivalences induced by the equality of canonical natural transformations over a model coincide with the equivalences induced by the equality of canonical morphisms for all interpretations in that model. Lo scopo del presente lavoro è quello di esplorare nella letteratura sanitaria internazionale il ruolo delle humanities nella formazione al lavoro di cura, offrendo una prospettiva “interna” rispetto ai temi in questione. A partire da una ricerca bibliografica nella banca dati PubMed, con le parole chiave “medical humanities” e “caring”, si analizzerà il significato di questi termini in alcuni ambiti sanitari, esaminando se e perché le medical humanities vengono considerate un valido metodo per formare professionisti con competenze di caring. Nelle (...) conclusioni si discuteranno il potenziale e i limiti di una formazione alla competenza di caring basata sulle medical humanities, mettendo in luce come tale competenza possa essere sviluppata anche e soprattutto a partire dalla riflessione sulla pratica clinica e, soprattutto, dalle relazioni con i docenti. Infine, verrà proposta come altrettanto cruciale la cura con cui i formatori allestiscono il dispositivo educativo dei professionisti sanitari.The aim of this paper is to explore the role of the humanities in training caringcompetencies in the international medical literature, giving an “internal” perspective about these topics. Starting from a bibliographic research in PubMed data source, with the key words “medical humanities” and “caring”, it will be analyzed the meaning of these expressions in some healthcare professional fields, exploring if and why medical humanities are considered a suitable method to train operators to the caring work. Conclusively, the strengths and limitations of training caring competencies through medical humanities will be discussed, clarifying that these competencies can also be improved by reflecting on clinical practice, and, moreover, by the relationship that teachers establish with their students. Finally, a caring attitude in setting up the educational environment of the healthcare professionals will be introduced as a paramount competence, too. (shrink)

Max Stirner (1806-1856) est l'auteur de L'Unique et sa propriété, paru en 1844. Il occupe une place singulière dans l'histoire de la pensée philosophique en ce qu'il pousse celle-ci dans ses derniers retranchements et oppose à tous les systèmes politiques et sociaux la réalité de l'individu unique. Chantre de l'égoïsme mais prônant l'association, il s'en prend radicalement à toutes les doctrines fondées sur le sacrifice ou l'oubli de soi. Les deux textes qui composent le présent volume visent à dégager la (...) pensée de Stirner des contresens et légendes qu'a entrai nés une lecture biaisée de son oeuvre. Le Philosophe qui s'en va tout seul en propose une interprétation destinée à rendre Stirner accessible au lecteur d'aujourd'hui. Celui-ci y trouvera les grandes étapes de la vie de Stirner ainsi que la genèse et l'évolution de sa philosophie. Il assistera à la vigoureuse attaque menée par Stirner contre les idéaux – religieux, politiques ou moraux, qui asservissent l'individu concret. Or loin d'être apocalyptique, L'Unique fonde de manière dynamique un nouveau type d'individu et de relations sociales, qui s'oppose à tous les totalitarismes. De ce fait et par la postérité qu'il a eue (de Nietzsche et des anarchistes aux situationnistes), Stirner reste un des philosophes les plus actuels. Stirner a choqué nombre de lecteurs, à commencer par Karl Marx qui écrivit avec Engels L'Idéologie allemande pour le combattre: c'est cet éreintage "matérialiste" que dissèque Daniel Joubert dans Marx versus Stirner. Il éclaire l'antagonisme entre ces deux émules de Hegel, qui traça pour longtemps une fracture dans les rangs de la révolte et de la critique du monde marchand. Ces considérations, souvent malicieuses, ébauchent en outre la perspective d'un dépassement de l'opposition entre "l'Unique" stirnérien et "l'être générique" marxien. (shrink)
