Dieses Buch setzt sich mit der Idee der Wissenschaft und ihrem Wandel im Laufe der Geschichte auseinander. Aristoteles steht für den Anfang dieser Idee, die in der Geistesgeschichte der westlichen Welt durchgängig lebendig war und letztlich zu unserer modernen Welt geführt hat. Demnach ist Wissenschaft ein Gedankengebäude mit einer bestimmten Architektur: ein Netz von Aussagen, deren Struktur sich letztlich aus wenigen, nicht zu begründenden Grundsätzen ergibt. Wie hat sich diese Idee im Laufe der Geschichte weiter entwickelt? Was sollte man heute (...) in einem solchen Gedankengebäude für die Begriffe, Grundaussagen, Begründungen und folgenden Aussagen fordern, wenn man von einer Wissenschaft redet? Der Autor beleuchtet diese Fragen und gibt mögliche Antworten für drei verschiedene Gebiete: die Physik, die Rechtswissenschaft und die christliche Theologie, denn in allen dreien gibt es eine lange Tradition, sich mit dieser Idee der Wissenschaft auseinander zu setzen. „Die Idee der Wissenschaft“ richtet sich an alle, die sich für den Wissenschaftsbegriff interessieren. Millikan's externalist account of concept acquisition cannot completely avoid the distinction between central (defining) and peripheral (characteristic) features, because some knowledge is required to achieve reference and to decide what kind of information to record about the identified substances. However, the emphasis on external reference may provide the requisite principled way to make this distinction.

Cílem studie je srovnání Platónova a Aristotelova výkladu vlastností těžké a lehké. Nejprve jsou představeny hlavní motivy obou výkladů a poté následuje srovnání z hlediska využití empirických dat, z hlediska jejich explikační síly a také co do blízkosti modernímu pojetí tíže. V závěru se ukazuje, že Aristotelova koncepce těžkého a lehkého je propracovanější a komplexnější, ovšem mnohem stručnější výklad Platónův má také značné explikační možnosti a v určitých ohledech Aristotelovu teorii předčí.

The ability of non-invasively observing changes in the Ca2+ concentrations is important in the understanding of a great variety of neuronal processes. Several compounds were designed (Fig.1) to take advantage of the different binding abilities of carboxylates and phosphonates to gadolinium. Furthermore the different affinities of the two functional groups to Ca2+ permit to obtain free coordination sites at gadolinium. The generation of these coordination sites, which are mandatory for water relaxivity, depends on the structure of the complexes and the (...) Ca2+ concentration. Die Studien zur Geschichte und Kultur des islamischen Orients / Studies in the History and Culture of the Islamic Orient ist die Reihe der "Beihefte" zur Zeitschrift Der Islam. Beide werden von der Abteilung für Geschichte und Kultur des Vorderen Orients, Asien-Afrika-Institut, Universität Hamburg herausgegeben. Die Abteilung wurde im Jahre 1908 noch vor der Universität Hamburg gegründet. Sie war unter ihrem ersten Direktor C. H. Becker das erste wissenschaftliche Zentrum in Deutschland, in dem die Lehre und Forschung sich auf die (...) historischen und kulturwissenschaftlichen und nicht allein die philologischen Aspekte bei der Erforschung der islamischen Welt konzentrierte. Viele führende Experten der deutschen Islamwissenschaft haben hier gelehrt und/oder studiert. Mit dem gleichen hohen Anspruch und der gleichen hohen Qualität wie Der Islamhaben die "Beihefte" zahlreiche Arbeiten über die Geschichte und Kultur der islamischen Welt publiziert, die jeweils Meilensteine in ihrem Feld darstellten. Die seit 2004 erscheinende "Neue Folge" der Beihefte baut auf dieser Tradition auf und bietet eine Plattform für die Publikation von Studien über die Geschichte und Kultur der islamischen Welt vom Beginn des Islams bis in die heutige Zeit. Que el lenguaje prefigure el pensamiento y, por tanto, la filosofía, es una hipótesis pocoprobable. Pero que haya una cierta congruencia entre la estructura lingüística y el modocorrespondiente de representarse el mundo, tiene bastante sustento. En este trabajo, indagoacerca de las repercusiones de la sintaxis de las lenguas indoeuropeas en la ontologíadominante de Occidente, plasmada en el predominio de la sustancialidad, como también delinflujo de la lógica lingüística de las lenguas nativas andinas en la Filosofía Andina,expresada en el predominio de (...) la relacionalidad. A pesar de las diferencias lingüístico-teóricas entre ambas culturas, sigue en pie la posibilidad de una hermenéutica interculturaldiatópica y de la inter-traducibilidad conceptual. (shrink)

Summary This paper reports on an analysis of organizational structures in Swedish elite ice hockey and is concerned with the organization at club level, its similarities and differences with regard to the clubs’ structural dimensions: specialization, standardization and centralization. Findings are based on structured interviews with the general managers of 11 clubs represented in the Swedish elite league and on official and unofficial documents. The results, categorizing the clubs for each of these three structural dimensions into Law, Medium, and High, (...) reveal some smaller variations in structural features, but mainly similarities, explained using the concept of adaptive isomorphism. From the perspective of Catholic moral theology, one of the most important topics in view of the tense relationship between law, ethics and religion is natural law. The first part of the present text tries to defend this type of theory, which goes back to antiquity, against the most important objections and to determine the contours of a contemporary form of natural law thinking. In the second part of the text, their practical importance is indicated using the example of the (...) current debate about the moral evaluation of suicide and suicide assistance as well as dealing with the phenomenon of so-called transgenderness.
