A moderated-mediation analysis of performance appraisal politics perception and counterproductive work behavior.Hong-Yan Wang & Zhi-Xia Chen - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
Politics has become a common element in the performance appraisal process, and as decision recipients in this process, those appraised tend to be more sensitive to performance appraisal politics. This paper examines the mechanisms by which performance appraisal politics perception affects counterproductive work behavior from the perspective of those appraised. The mediating effect of perceived organizational justice and the moderating effect of political skill are incorporated into a parsimonious moderated-mediation model. A quantitative research approach is employed with survey data from (...)

On Categorical Equivalence of Weak Monadic Residuated Distributive Lattices and Weak Monadic c-Differential Residuated Distributive Lattices.Jun Tao Wang, Yan Hong She, Peng Fei He & Na Na Ma - 2023 - Studia Logica 111 (3):361-390.
The category \(\mathbb {DRDL}{'}\), whose objects are c-differential residuated distributive lattices satisfying the condition \(\textbf{CK}\), is the image of the category \(\mathbb {RDL}\), whose objects are residuated distributive lattices, under the categorical equivalence \(\textbf{K}\) that is constructed in Castiglioni et al. (Stud Log 90:93–124, 2008). In this paper, we introduce weak monadic residuated lattices and study some of their subvarieties. In particular, we use the functor \(\textbf{K}\) to relate the category \(\mathbb {WMRDL}\), whose objects are weak monadic residuated distributive lattices, (...)

A topological characterization of consistency of logic theories in propositional logic.Guo-Jun Wang & Yan-Hong She - 2006 - Mathematical Logic Quarterly 52 (5):470-477.
The main purpose of this note is to characterize consistency of logic theories in propositional logic by means of topological concept. Based on the concepts of truth degree of formulas and similarity degree between formulas the concept of logic metric space has been proposed by the first author. It is proved in this note that a closed logic theory Γ is consistent if and only if it contains no interior point in the logic metric space. Moreover the relationship between logic (...)

    My Marxist Outlook.Wang Ruoshui - 1997 - Contemporary Chinese Thought 29 (1):35-96.
On June 30, 1949, just before the nationwide victory of the Chinese Revolution, Mao Zedong wrote his On the People's Democratic Dictatorship, one section of which deals with the Chinese people's quest for revolutionary truth. He wrote that, from the time of China's Opium War in 1840, Chinese progressives such as Hong Xiuquan, Kang Youwei, Yan Fu, and Sun Yatsen went through untold hardships in their search for truth from the Western countries, but nothing worked.

How Children Feel Matters: Teacher–Student Relationship as an Indirect Role Between Interpersonal Trust and Social Adjustment.Yan Dong, Hongfei Wang, Fang Luan, Zheneng Li & Li Cheng - 2021 - Frontiers in Psychology 11.
Previous studies have demonstrated positive correlations between children’s interpersonal trust and social adjustment. However, the psychological mechanism underlying this effect is still unclear. The current study tested the indirect roles of teacher–student relationships from both students’ and teachers’ perspectives in a Chinese context. In total, 709 pupils from grade three to grade five, and their 17 head teachers from a Chinese public primary school participated in this study. The Children’s Generalized Trust Beliefs Scale, Social Adjustment Scale for Children and Adolescents, (...)

The Impact of Inclusive Leadership on Employees’ Innovative Behaviors: The Mediation of Psychological Capital.Yang-Chun Fang, Jia-Yan Chen, Mei-Jie Wang & Chao-Ying Chen - 2019 - Frontiers in Psychology 10:471532.
Employee innovation is the cornerstone of the organization, and the motivation for employee innovative behavior largely depends on the leadership style of the leader. With the economic development of society, the traditional authoritative style of leadership can no longer adapt to the psychological characteristics of employees, who use new-era work concepts, techniques, and social rules (hereafter, new generation workers). Inclusive leadership is based on the concept of “fully inclusive and equitable” in traditional Chinese culture, and it can adapt to the (...)

Mechanisms of How Random Input Controls Bursting Gene Expression.Sijia Xiao, Yan Wang, Zhigang Wang & Haohua Wang - 2022 - Complexity 2022:1-17.
The process of gene expression is affected by many extracellular stimulus signals, and the stochasticity of these signals reshapes gene expression. To adapt the fluctuation of the extracellular environment, genes have many strategies for augmenting their survival probability, frequency modulation, and amplitude modulation. However, it is unclear how genes utilize the stochasticity of signals to regulate gene expression and which strategy will be chosen to maximize cellular function. Here, we analyze a simple mechanistic model to clarify the effect of extracellular (...)

Guanxi, or social networks common in Confucian cultures, has long been recognized as one of the major factors for success when doing business in China. However, insider networks in business are certainly not confined to Asian cultures, nor is the attendant possibility for corruption. This study obtained original data to investigate current Taiwanese perceptions of (1) how guanxi is established and cultivated; (2) how guanxi actually is practiced now and people’s acceptance of it; and (3) the effects of guanxi on (...)

While many publications have reported brain hemodynamic responses to decision-making under various conditions of risk, no inventory management scenarios, such as the newsvendor problem, have been investigated in conjunction with neuroimaging. In this study, we hypothesized that NP stimulates the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and the orbitofrontal cortex joined with frontal polar area significantly in the human brain, and that local brain network properties are increased when a person transits from rest to the NP decision-making phase. We examine managers’ earnings forecasts for evidence of incentive alignment or subversion characteristics. We find that forecasts by managers compensated via relative performance (RP) goals are more likely to be pessimistic and less accurate than those by managers compensated via absolute performance (AP) goals. For firms not issuing earnings forecasts, disclosures in Form 10-Ks are more pessimistic for RP firms than for AP firms. Furthermore, we find that RP firms perform worse than AP firms in terms of future stock returns. (...)
