Corporate Identity of a Socially Responsible University – A Case from the Turkish Higher Education Sector.Mg Serap Atakan & Tutku Eker - 2007 - Journal of Business Ethics 76 (1):55-68.
Facing increased competition, universities are driven to project a positive image to their internal and external stakeholders. Therefore some of these institutions have begun to develop and implement corporate identity programs as part of their corporate strategies. This study describes a Turkish higher education institution’s social responsibility initiatives. Along with this example, the study also analyzes a specific case using concepts from the Corporate Identity and Corporate Social Responsibility literature. From commodity surplus to food justice: food banks and local agriculture in the United States.Domenic Vitiello, Jeane Ann Grisso, K. Leah Whiteside & Rebecca Fischman - 2015 - Agriculture and Human Values 32 (3):419-430.
Amidst expanding interest in local food and agriculture, food banks and allied organizations across the United States have increasingly engaged in diverse gleaning, gardening, and farming activities. Some of these programs reinforce food banks’ traditional role in distributing surplus commodities, and most extend food banks’ reliance on middle class volunteers and charitable donations. But some gleaning and especially gardening and farming programs seek to build poor people’s and communities’ capacity to meet more of their own food needs, signaling new roles (...)

    Philosophy’s Gaudy Dress.Linda Mg Zerilli - 2005 - European Journal of Political Theory 4 (2):146-163.
John Locke famously sets the arts of rhetoric at odds with the pursuit of knowledge. Drawing on the work of Ernesto Grassi, this article shows that Locke’s epistemological and political arguments are parasitic on the very tropes and figures he would exclude in any serious discourse. Accordingly, Locke’s attack on the divine right of kings and his famous argument for the social contract is read as exhibiting a rhetorical structure. This structure is crucial to Locke’s critique of heteronomy and his (...)

    Sulfonylurea receptor 2 (SUR2), intricate sensors for intracellular Mg‐nucleotides.Tianyi Hou & Lei Chen - 2024 - Bioessays 46 (3):2300151.
SUR2, similar to SUR1, is a regulatory subunit of the ATP‐sensitive potassium channel (KATP), which plays a key role in numerous important physiological processes and is implicated in various diseases. Recent structural studies have revealed that, like SUR1, SUR2 can undergo ligand‐dependent dynamic conformational changes, transitioning between an inhibitory inward‐facing conformation and an activating occluded conformation. In addition, SUR2 possesses a unique inhibitory Regulatory helix (R helix) that is absent in SUR1. The binding of the activating Mg‐ADP to NBD2 of (...)
