    The accurate quantitative calculation of mineral components is very important and basic work in formation evaluation. Using well-log data to estimate mineralogy and porosity is a (...)mainstream method with core measurements often used. However, in shale reservoirs, there are many mineral components, such as organic matter and pyrite. In addition, the pore structure is complex, and gas exists in the pores as free state, adsorbed state, and dissolved state. These factors make the logging response characteristics more complex and thus the estimation of the mineral components more difficult. To address this problem, we have adopted a mineral inversion method based on error analysis and response equation error. Based on the error analysis of the mineral inversion method, we first establish a technique to obtain interpretation parameters and the function of the response equation error combined with the core data. Then, based on the weighted total least-squares method, we construct the objective function, and we use the improved krill herd algorithm to solve the problem. Finally, we estimate the mineral component volume. The calculated results indicate that the method can accurately determine the clay, quartz + feldspar, carbonate contents, and porosity by conventional logging data. Compared to the traditional mineral inversion method, the average relative error is reduced by 11.1%. The method has high applicability to shale reservoirs and can supply the basic parameters for formation evaluation. (shrink)

Chinese philosophers, especially Mencius, Wang Yangming and Wang's followers, pursue the way to become a "holy man", which requires a thorough reflection on, and a radical change of one's own consciousness. Hence they discover and investigate some special aspects of consciousness, which haven't been taken into account by Husserlian Phenomenology, and therefore pose revealing questions to the latter. This article discusses three of them: the first question concerns a direct feeling for other human beings and animals; the second question concerns the relation between the moral conscience and the immediate consciousness of one's own intentional acts or lived-experiences; the third question concerns the intentionality of the meditative, tranquil consciousness.     Gender equality is not only a policy reform agenda for developing countries but also an important goal of Millennium Development Goals. With respect to all socio-economic (...)indicators, the development history demonstrates extremely gloomy image of gender inequality in Pakistan. With this background this paper investigates the nexus between wage inequality and economic growth and detects co-integration between gender wage differential and economic growth using ARDL bound test. It is confirmed from the empirical results that there exists long-run relationship between economic growth and wage differential. The findings of unrestricted error correction model indicate that the wage inequality showed negative and significant impact on economic growth in the long run. The results of this study showed dissimilarity with the findings of Seguino that there is existed constructive association between wage inequality and economic growth. An important finding from the present examination is that the gender wage gap is detrimental for the process of growth in long run. Policies should be made to reduce gender wage gap. Such government policy should be designed which could address and adjust economic priorities in the face of changing global economic realities and provide comprehensive framework for conducive environment for gender.     Interval time-varying delay is common in control process, e.g., automatic robot control system, and its stability analysis is of great significance to ensure the reliable control (...) of industrial processes. In order to improve the conservation of the existing robust stability analysis method, this paper considers a class of linear systems with norm-bounded uncertainty and interval time-varying delay as the research object. Less conservative robust stability criterion is put forward based on augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method and reciprocally convex combination. Firstly, the delay interval is partitioned into multiple equidistant subintervals, and a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional comprising quadruple-integral term is introduced for each subinterval. Secondly, a novel delay-dependent stability criterion in terms of linear matrix inequalities is given by less conservative Wirtinger-based integral inequality approach. Three numerical comparative examples are given to verify the superiority of the proposed approach in reducing the conservation of conclusion. For the first example about closed-loop control systems with interval time-varying delays, the proposed robust stability criterion could get MADB about 0.3 more than the best results in the previous literature; and, for two other uncertain systems with interval time-varying delays, the MADB results obtained by the proposed method are better than those in the previous literature by about 0.045 and 0.054, respectively. All the example results obtained in this paper clearly show that our approach is better than other existing methods. (shrink)

    We have systematically investigated a typical lacustrine mixed siliciclastic-carbonate sedimentary system in this study, which primarily deposited in the Eocene Upper Shahejie Formation of the Huanghekou (...)Sag, Bohai Bay Basin. Using synthetic lithologic data sets, we summarized eight lithofacies from mixed siliciclastic-carbonate rocks and classified them into siliciclastic- and carbonate-dominated groups, indicating the variation of relative intensity between fluvial/deltaic process and carbonate productivity. Combining petrological and mineral component analysis, most lithofacies are compositionally replaced by micrite dolomite and show vertically different scales of cyclicity. The high-level cyclicity suggests the alternation between siliciclastic- and carbonate-dominated mixed rocks, whereas the lower level indicates interbedding of different dolomite-dominated lithofacies. The controlling factors on both levels are different. The higher level is probably controlled by climate changes, which finally resulted in the relative variations of siliciclastic supply, although the lower level of cyclicity changes more frequently and is considered to have been controlled by fluctuating hydrodynamic conditions. Typical mixed rock depositing patterns are summarized as thesandwich type,” which are mainly distributed at siliciclastic-dominated sections and theinterbedded typeat carbonate-dominated sections. Besides, reservoir physical properties among lithofacies display significant differences as well, and the grain-supported framework of carbonate-dominated lithofacies suggests most constructive in keeping intergranular pores. The investigated lacustrine cyclical sedimentation in mixed siliciclastic-carbonate rocks has been less concerned in previous studies and may serve as a useful reference for lacustrine mixed rocks analysis in other rifted basins.     Seismic imaging in foothills areas is challenging because of the complexity of the near-surface and subsurface structures. Single seismic surveys often are not adequate in a (...)foothill-exploration area, and multiple phases with different acquisition designs within the same block are required over time to get desired sampling in space and azimuths for optimizing noise attenuation, velocity estimation, and migration. This is partly because of economic concerns, and it is partly because technology is progressing over time, creating the need for unified criteria in processing workflows and parameters at different blocks in a study area. Each block is defined as a function of not only location but also the acquisition and processing phase. An innovative idea for complex foothills seismic imaging is presented to solve a matrix of blocks and tasks. For each task, such as near-surface velocity estimation and static corrections, signal processing, prestack time migration, velocity-model building, and prestack depth migration, one or two best service companies are selected to work on all blocks. We have implemented streamlined processing efficiently so that Task-1 to Task-n progressed with good coordination. Application of this innovative approach to a mega-project containing 16 3D surveys covering more than [Formula: see text] in the Kelasu foothills, northwestern China, has demonstrated that this innovative approach is a current best practice in complex foothills imaging. To date, this is the largest foothills imaging project in the world. The case study in Kelasu successfully has delivered near-surface velocity models using first arrivals picked up to 3500 m offset for static corrections and 9000 m offset for prestack depth migration from topography. Most importantly, the present megaproject is a merge of several 3D surveys, with the merge performed in a coordinated, systematic fashion in contrast to most land megaprojects. The benefits of this approach and the strategies used in processing data from the various subsurveys are significant. The main achievement from the case study is that the depth images, after the application of the near-surface velocity model estimated from the megasurveys, are more continuous and geologically plausible, leading to more accurate seismic interpretation.     The study of sedimentary characteristics and genetic mechanism of mixed siliciclastic-carbonate sediments is not only the focus of sedimentary geology, but it is also an important (...)issue in petroleum exploration and development. We have discovered the lacustrine MSCSs, the interstratified siliciclastic-carbonate sediments and the textural mixture of siliciclastic and carbonate materials in the second member of the Paleogene Funing Formation in the Gaoyou and Jinhu sags, Subei Basin, eastern China. We use core, mud-log and thin-section data to clarify the [Formula: see text] s-MSCSs into five types, and we also use geochemical data of the [Formula: see text] mudstone including X-ray diffraction whole rock, XRD clay, and trace elements to quantitatively analyze lake paleosalinity. The [Formula: see text] s-MSCSs mainly consist of siliciclasts, ooids, intraclasts, and mud, and they could be siliciclast-dominated, allochem-dominated, or without dominant components. We analyze that mixed sediments occur under either traction flow or gravity flow. The s-MSCSs of the traction flow origin develop small-scale, wavy cross-bedding and consist of siliciclasts and ooids of similar size; the s-MSCSs of the gravity flow origin develop massive bedding and graded bedding with complex lithology, and they mainly consist of siliciclasts and allochems of different size. We hypothesize that the increase of lake paleosalinity controlled by the climate and the moderate siliciclast influx under stable tectonic setting provide the material source for s-MSCSs in the lacustrine basin. Multidirectional flow is common during the deposition of s-MSCSs of traction flow origin, and seasonal flooding produces s-MSCSs of the gravity flow origin. Lacustrine s-MSCSs in the Gaoyou and Jinhu sags have significantly smaller scale and quantity, and ooids rather than bioclasts occupy most of the carbonate components. (shrink)

    Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease at the beginning of December 2019, there have been more than 28.69 million cumulative confirmed cases worldwide as (...)of 12th September 2020, affecting over 200 countries and regions with more than 920,463 deaths. The COVID-19 pandemic has been sweeping worldwide with unexpected rapidity. In this paper, a hybrid modelling strategy based on tessellation structure- configured SEIR model is adopted to estimate the scale of the pandemic spread. Building on the data pertaining to the global pandemic transmission over the last six months around the world, key impact factors in the transmission and control procedure have been analysed, including isolation rate, number of the infected cases before taking prevention measures, degree of contact scope, and medical level, so as to capture the fundamental factor influencing the pandemic. The quantitative evaluation allowed us to illustrate the magnitude of risks of pandemic and to recommend appropriate national health policy of prevention measures for effectively controlling both intra- and interregional pandemic spread. Our modelling results clearly indicate that the early-stage preventive measures are the most effective action to be taken to contain the pandemic spread of the highly contagious nature of the COVID-19.     For VR systems, one of its core parts is to present people with a real and immersive 3D simulation environment. This paper uses real-time computer graphics (...)technology, three-dimensional modeling technology, and binocular stereo vision technology to study the multivisual animation character objects in virtual reality technology; designs a binocular stereo vision animation system; designs and produces a three-dimensional model; and develops a virtual multivisual animation scene application. The main research content and work performed in the text include the research of the basic graphics rendering pipeline process and the analysis and research of each stage of the rendering pipeline. It mainly analyzes the 3D graphics algorithm used in the three-dimensional geometric transformation of computer graphics and studies the basic texture technology, basic lighting model, and other image output processes used in the fragment processing stage. Combined with the development needs of the subject, the principles of 3D animation rendering production software and 3D graphics modeling are studied, and the solid 3D model displayed in the virtual reality scene is designed and produced. This article also reflects the application of virtual reality in multivisual animation character design from the side, so it has realistic value and application prospects. (shrink)
