Moral instinct and moral judgment.Liangkang Ni - 2009 - Frontiers of Philosophy in China 4 (2):238-250.
Human beings’ moral life can be divided into two forms, one based on moral instincts and the other on moral judgments. The former is carried on without deliberation, while the latter relies upon valuations and judgments. The two can ultimately be viewed as man’s innate moral nature and acquired moral conventions. Theoretically, preference for the former will lead to naturalism and for the latter to culturalism, but this is the reality of man’s moral life. Moreover, there may be a parallel (...)

  4. Three Questions from Chinese Philosophy Addressed to Husserl's Phenomenology.Iso Kern, Jun Li & Liangkang Ni - 2009 - Philosophy and Culture 36 (4):9-29.
Chinese philosophers, especially Mencius, Wang Yangming and his followers, the pursuit of a "saint." This requires them to conduct a thorough awareness of people's own reflection and fundamental change. They discover and explore some special aspects of consciousness, Husserl's phenomenology of these areas have not been taken into account, and thus made a thought-provoking to the latter question. This paper explores three related issues: one, a person or animal to its direct experience; Second, the moral sense and intention of their (...)

    Husserl und der Buddhismus.Liangkang Ni - 2011 - Husserl Studies 27 (2):143-160.

The Phenomenological-Ontological Dimension of Philosophy of History: The Problem of History in Husserl and Heidegger.Liangkang Ni - 2018 - Comparative and Continental Philosophy 10 (1):7-20.
ABSTRACTIf we take Heidegger's ontology to be a philosophy of history, then, for Husserl, the problem of history is only one among the three major directions of his thoughts. After Husserl met Dilthey in 1905, he more and more attended to the problem of history and reflected upon the longitudinal intentionality of time-genesis-history. His basic idea is to grasp the condition of possibility of history by means of an eidetic intuition upon the longitudinal intentionality. However, because Husserl never explicates his (...)

Zero and metaphysics: Thoughts about being and nothingness from mathematics, buddhism, daoism to phenomenology. [REVIEW]Liangkang Ni - 2007 - Frontiers of Philosophy in China 2 (4):547-556.
With the help of the natural history of “zero,” and the use of “zero” as a starting point, one may consider two types of metaphysics. On the one hand, the epistemological metaphysics, based on the perceptual/rational dichotomy, is related to the zero as a vacancy between numbers. On the other hand, the genetic metaphysics, based on the dichotomy of source-evolution (or origin and derivate), has much to do with the zero as a number between negative and positive numbers. In this (...)
