Este texto se ocupa de dos volúmenes de la obra de Heidegger: el curso sobre Parménides de 1942 y la recopilación De camino al habla de 1950-1959. El curso sobre Parménides trabaja los términos griegos mythos, logos y epos, y los determina como “los mismos” –lo que no precisamente corresponde a la identidad–. En sus diferencias mismas, remiten a la “palabra” (das Wort). Varios años después, la “palabra” es invocada en la triple denominación de Sprache, Wort y Sage que, en (...) sí mismos, no dependen de ninguna lógica de la identidad, sino más bien de una lógica de la “tautología”: la poesía misma. Si bien Parménides no otorga, como Jenófanes, una connotación fuertemente negativa al discurso mítico de la tradición poética, no es menos cierto que asistimos con él a una verdadera transmutación del discurso homérico y hesiódico, fundamentalmente en lo que concierne al problema complejo de la verdad, el engaño y la verosimilitud. La originalidad filosófica de Parménides consistiría no solamente en la elaboración de un logos que encarnaría por primera vez en Occidente la idea de una “razón crítica personal”, capaz de (...) “juzgar” la refutación enunciada por la autoridad de una “maestra de la verdad”, y en el establecimiento de un gnōmē (juicio) susceptible de elegir entre lo más verosímil y lo menos verosímil, sino también en el hecho de entablar, mucho antes que Platón –y a diferencia del Sofista–, una reflexión sobre la verdad y el error que está guiada por la cuestión de las buenas y malas mezclas, las buenas y malas separaciones.---“Mythos and logos in Parmenides”. Although Parmenides does not present a strongly negative connotation of the mythical discourse of the poetic tradition, as Xenophanes does, there is no less truth to the fact that we witness with him a true transmutation of the Homeric and Hesiodic discourse, especially regarding the complex problem of truth, deceit and verisimilitude. The philosophical originality of Parmenides lies not only in the elaboration of a logos that would, for the first time in Western Thought, embody the idea of a “personal critical reason”, capable of “judging” the refutation pronounced by the authority of a “Master of Truth”, nor in the institution of a gnōmē (judgement) capable of choosing between things with more or less verisimilitude, but also in the fact of undertaking, long before Plato –and in a different manner than in the Sophist–, a reflection on truth and error that is guided by the question of the good and bad combinations, the good and bad separations. This article deals with an object of Philosophy, strictly the Philosophy of Language, which concerns the study of the logic and of the dialectics. So, it proposes to analyze the dialectic-logical conceptual aspects in the Corpus Hermeticum 12.12-14a in comparison with the logical texts of the Stoicorum Veterum Fragmenta, in order to find supposed sources conformed with the hermetic text, and know how they were re-worked in it. For that, the references, descriptions and quotations of Sextus Empiricus and of Diocles (...) Magnes, apud Diogenes Laertius, they constitute important sources on the philosophical doctrines of Zenon, Cleanthes and Crysippus. One considers that the doctrine of the first part of the Corp. Herm. 12 is, often, Platonic. Nevertheless, there are realized signs of influences of stoicism. The conception about νοῦς [nous] in the man is from Platonic origin, but the expression προφοριϰὸς λόγος [prophorikos logos] is certainly Stoic. Then, the Corp. Herm. 12 is a product of a middle-stoicism or middle-Platonism, stoicizing Platonism or platonizing Stoicism, which cannot have appeared before the c. I B.C.E. Specifically, the article is interested in the dialectic-logical problem that involve some Stoic concepts, as λόγος, προφοριϰὸς λόγος, φωνή [phōnē], as well as the problem of the connective propositional logic in the platonizing process through the doctrine of νοῦς themed in the Corp. Herm. 12.12-14a, assuming a theological dimension and a divine character of λόγος, by being ἐνδιάϑετος λόγος, the thought that exists ἐν τῇ διαϑέσει, ἐν τῷ νῷ. (shrink)

La bifacialidad de la hipóstasis nodal (noûs, psyché) en el régimen de emanación neoplatónico, recabada en clave antropológica, impregna el pensamiento occidental como expresión de la doble faceta de la razón: facies cognoscitiva/ad infra e idealizadora/ad supra. El noúmeno se erige en límite ideal de conocimiento para la progresión de la razón hacia lo incondicionado, con valor, entonces, no cognoscitivo sino regulativo. Sobre esa tesis kantiana versal, la irrealidad de lo cognoscible en su comisión objetiva (la objetualidad de lo sólo (...) óntico transluce su ontologización como irreal - fenomenológico) y la transfenomenalidad del en sí agostado en la apariencia (despliegue del ser en el espectro completo de manifestaciones ante conciencia que detrae la realidad al noúmeno, relegado a mera ficción), el libro ensaya patrones de lectura del hiato objeto - sujeto, procurando cauces a la metafísica e imponiendo barreras indelebles a la ciencia, en un recorrido que arranca en el mythos y en la anáfora filogenética del enigma de Edipo. La topología freudiana del aparato psíquico servirá de base para una división de las edades del espíritu que reelabora la propuesta de Comte, asociando el super - yo a la era teocrática de prominencia de la faz acognitiva (vivencia del noúmeno como realidad metafísica significativa en sí misma, no puro ideal, con la jerarquía y envolturas del mundo medio como consecuencia sociológica y el supra - egocidium místico, implosión del superyo decisiva para el renacer -teorema de Thomas-), el yo a la era crítica (inflación utópico - normativa del noúmeno y restrictiva adhesión epistemológica a lo fenoménico en una época que conserva la ilusión transcendental), ambas, etapas de bipolaridad con quiásmica descompensación facial, y el ello, en fin, al orden positivista unifacial surgente con la revolución industrial y el vitalismo que, en sus directrices primarias, sanciona el estatuto canónico del noúmeno, abonándose al fenómeno y abrazando la inmanencia como única solución de fe. La Teoría Crítica lo buscó a la vez en el espíritu moral de una Ilustración humanista y en el horizonte (...) del movimiento comunista internacional liderado por la URSS. Esta balance se truncó trágicamente ante la evidencia de la perversión soviética del contenido humano del socialismo revolucionario. La extrema ambigüedad que esta situación produjo en la lógica del pensamiento de la Teoría Crítica, extiende sus consecuencias hasta un presente que asiste a la exclusión forzada de todo proyecto fehacientemente revolucionario del panorama político occidental. Se distingue entre principios racionales sustantivos y metódicos, y entre criterios de aceptabilidad y criterios de cosntrucción de argumentos. Sobre esta base se mantiene que la lógica y semántica formales son componentes necesarios de la teoría de la argumentación. Tmbién se consideran dos objeciones típicas : la retendida inaplicabilidad en genral de esas técnicas debido a su radical insuficiencia, y la presunta inutilidad de la lógica formal.

In this essay, we examine certain key aspects of Nietzsche’s contribution to the ongoing debate concerning the nature and status of philosophical wisdom. We argue that, for Nietzsche, philosophical wisdom is tantamount to a “disruptive wisdom” which is expressed in a “permanent critique of ourselves” and our entire mode of existence. Philosophical wisdom, so construed, is not a matter of finding “metaphysical comfort” in consoling theories, images, or ideas; nor is it a matter of offering consolation for frustration and suffering. (...) Instead, it is about disrupting or rupturing those prevailing “human, all too human” myths and illusions that perpetuate human frustration and suffering—especially the myths and illusions associated with what Nietzsche terms the “hitherto reigning ascetic ideal” in the West. By disturbing our “dogmatic slumber” in common-place beliefs and values, Nietzsche’s “untimely” atopic philosophers of “disruptive wisdom” evoke the promise of alternate forms of humanity: new ways of valuing the earth and our life on it, new paradigms for a way of life to be achieved in the future. Disruptive philosophers and the wisdom they impart, help liberate and inspire us to experiment with new ways of thinking and valuing, all of which contribute, as Nietzsche sees it, to the reconstituting and “fashioning of the self” as a transformed “second nature”. In Etre, Monde, Imaginaire, Breton attempts to overcome the familiar opposition between being and world and, within the former, between mythos and logos. In The Word and the Cross, he refuses an opposition between the Pauline theology of the Cross and the Johanine theology of the Word. The success of these three moves depends on Breton’s claim for a Nothing that transcends both determination and reflection, as well as the contradictions that presuppose them.

This book contains fifteen essays all seeking to regain the original meaning of philosophy as the love of wisdom. _Mythos_ and _Logos_ are two essential aspects of a quest that began with the ancient Greeks. One implication of Godel’s Proof is that, as Barry Barnes has observed, “For people to operate...rationally they need to have internalized some non-rational commitment to rationality”. In which case “The customary Enlightenment formula, according to which the process of demagification of the world leads necessarily from mythos to logos, seems . . .” Gadamer suggests, “. . . to be a modern prejudice”, or myth. Yet some myths are more useful than others, and therefore it may be on pragmatic grounds (...) that, following Nietzsche’s characterization of “. . . logic and the categories of reason as means to . . . useful falsification . . .” we may wish to resist the abandonment of reason that many take to be the corollary of its deconstruction. This article considers the function and value of the mythos in Plato's Statesman. As first, I recall the context of the story and its function within the framework of diairetic inquiry about the definition of the real politician. Secondly, I point out that the formulation of the myth is based on a series of traditional stories to which a historical-reconstructive method is applied. I then highlight the ways of reasoning used by the characters in order to reconstruct a rational and (...) plausible account from the mythical tradition. Finally, I try to show that the story, even though it cannot reach the truth of the most stable objects of knowledge, displays a certain degree of plausibility, based on the internal coherence, on the respect of a series of principles admitted as true and, eventually, on its correspondence with the mythical tradition. Religions, ideologies try to give a complete vision of the world a vision containing both its origin, explanation and a “normative kit”: a collection of precepts and rules, which should regulate human activities and behavior. Their synergetic meaning is clear: if embraced by all they allow for development of strong synergetic effects on the social macro scales. These in turn may lead to creation of order and beauty, of intellectual, spiritual and moral development within men and in society. In this (...) consist the elements of their natural—i.e. not explicitly reasoned out—wisdom. However, as they contain also some elements of harmful consequences—at least if they are literally accepted and in a fundamentalist manner practiced—they cannot be universally accepted. But—rejecting them we lose also the important sourcesof natural—or should we say instinctive—wisdom.Could the solution of this contradiction, of this one of the basic human sources of suffering be looked for in the modern science of complexity?Synergetics and the sciences of complex systems in general offer a solid scientific base for a meta-philosophical, universalist intellectual framework. Its offspring the social synergetics offers concrete propositions of optimized social structures. Optimized in the sense of espousing the main synergetic effects with being at the same time free of the negative “side effects” happening when religions or ideologies are the source of synergism.Finally a connection is discussed between the presented ideas and the concept of “love of wisdom”. The term “love of wisdom” may be understood as striving not only to possess a “sound and serene judgment regarding the conduct of life” but also a practical ability to act according to that judgment.This ability may be also expressed using the information-thermodynamic concepts of synergetics. Indeed without the ever continuing negentropy transformation neither survival of a complex system like man or society nor its continuing development—uncovering of all his “hidden potentials” is possible.To assure maximization of this transformation process creation of strong synergetic effects—of reinforcement, of positive feedback—between all human beings—i.e. not excluding any nations, any social groups, and any individuals—are necessary. Acting towards local and global realization of such a structure everywhere on our planet constitutes the essence of social wisdom.Removing all obstacles towards this goal—obstacles existing on the intellectual, emotional and spiritual level—should be one of the most important tasks of various institutions, of state structures, of purified from mythical elements ideologies, of man oriented sciences and above all of the modern universalism.Thus striving towards its realization is an expression of the love of wisdom. Of wisdom once based on the elements of mythos and now regained in the full light of Logos. (shrink)

En el Fedón, tras ofrecer numerosos argumentos a favor de la inmortalidad del alma, se introduce un mythos acerca de su vida ultraterrena. Dado el tenor del tema en cuestión y las limitaciones humanas para dar con un logos estrictamente verdadero al respecto, Sócrates y sus allegados acuerdan en que se debe buscar el “más difícil de refutar” (85d1) entre los logoi humanos. Este trabajo intenta determinar en qué medida la asociación entre el mito presentado hacia el final del diálogo (...) y los argumentos precedentes contribuye a ese objetivo. En este sentido pretende mostrar, por un lado, que el mito mencionado posee los caracteres atribuidos a la noble mentira en R. II-III –texto que plantea la necesidad de acudir a relatos que, aunque ficticios, resultan útiles para instaurar la justicia en el alma del auditorio–; y, por el otro, que en virtud de su carácter persuasivo, el mito contribuye a fortalecer el logos hasta allí desarrollado para volverlo lo más irrefutable posible, generando confianza en la necesidad de llevar adelante una vida virtuosa, inclusive en el auditorio que no forma parte del círculo filosófico. The paper analyses A.F. Losev''s argument forthe identity of dialectical and mythicalthinking which forms the key part of his theoryof absolute mythology. Losev claims thatdialectical thinking is limited byphenomenological intuition. He fails torecognise, however, that this intuition itselfis a product of thinking. The same is true ofLosev''s concept of `life'' that is designed tolimit intellectual reflection. The mystery ofthe Absolute is, contrary to Losev''s claim, nota threshold that dialectical thinking cannotcross, but it is, in fact, realised only bysuch thinking. This (...) has a bearing on theChristian Neoplatonist doctrine of energisticsymbolism, which also plays a crucial part inLosev''s philosophy of myth. Under the pressureof the Neoplatonist tradition Losev violatesthe demands of dialectical thinking in favourof myth''s essential mysticism. And yet, becauseof the dialectical relation between rationalismand mysticism, Losev''s attempt was not afailure, but a valuable contribution to thetask of illuminating this relation. (shrink)

Resumen En este escrito se expone la critica heideggeriana a la lógica, que en su primera etapa comienza como una revisión histórica del concepto lógos, pero se irá radicalizando conforme el lenguaje se presenta como un impedimento para el desarrollo del proyecto ontológico, hasta desembocar en lo que él mismo denominó la necesidad de una conmoción estructural de la lógica. Con la finalidad de dar seguimiento al desarrollo paulatino de esta problemática, este texto ha sido dividido de la siguiente manera: (...) en primer lugar, exponemos el desmantelamiento del lógos propio de la lógica que Heidegger lleva a cabo en sus primeras lecciones; en segundo lugar, nos concentraremos en la crítica a la lógica que se lleva a cabo en el horizonte filosófico abierto por la pregunta acerca de la nada alrededor de los años 30, para así, finalmente, aclarar el sentido particular que caracteriza el proyecto de la Erschütterung der Logik en el contexto filosófico de 1934.The following text presents the Heideggerian critique to the logic, which, at the beginning is realized as an historical revision of the concept of lógos, but that will be more radical as language becomes a structural obstacle for the development of the ontological project. The culmination of the mentioned critique will be announced by Heidegger as the necessity to shake the logic in a structural way. Our purpose consists in following up the gradual development of this project, based on three different stages: so, firstly we expose the dismantling of the lógos proper of the logic that Heidegger carries out in his first lessons; secondly, we focus on the approach to logic that is opened up by the question of nothingness around the 1930's. Finally we clarify the particular meaning that characterizes the propousal of the Erschütterung der Logik in the philosophical context of 1934. (shrink)

Este artículo busca responder a la siguiente pregunta: ¿Qué tipo de relación sostiene la Ciencia de la lógica con la tradición metafísica? Hay en ello un doble motivo de reflexión: por un lado, se trata de distinguir los sentidos de la crítica y los de la transformación científica de la metafísica tanto en Kant como en Hegel, y, por otro lado, de concebir el inicio [Anfang] y el principio [Prinzip] de la Lógica como dos modos de relación que permitirían hacer (...) tal distinción aunque únicamente de manera introductoria. El inicio de esta Lógica es así el primer fin de un círculo que vuelve a abrirse; anverso del límite, o estudio lógico de reverso fenomenológico; unidad de un carácter genitivo doble ‒de la Ciencia de la conciencia y del Concepto de la Ciencia‒, que hace del saber puro el fin del inicio fenomenológico, y al mismo tiempo el inicio de su propia exposición. Inicio inmanente al desarrollo de la Ciencia y que es por lo tanto un momento de saber-puro-ser. Es, dicho en breve, el inicio de una Lógica pura, objetiva y subjetiva, ya liberada de la oposición en sí/concepto, y que al ser el desarrollo del pensar objetivo se constituye en el “sistema de la razón pura”. El artículo se propone mostrar cómo la redefinición de la racionalidad en términos de «Razón fronteriza», realizada por Eugenio Trías, cobra su sentido más profundo al entenderla como propuesta alternativa a las derivas postmodernas de la racionalidad. Aunque la hipótesis puede ser extendida a su uso práctico, nos centramos exclusivamente en el uso teórico de la razón fronteriza. Para ello atendemos a las obras más maduras de la filosofía del límite, realizando un análisis intertextual mediante el que es posible entender (...) algunos pasajes que, leídos de manera aislada, pueden parecer ambiguos o incomprensibles. Este análisis nos permite concluir que la apertura esencial de la «razón fronteriza» hacia el «suplemento simbólico» revela su coherencia y su fuerza hermenéutica más genuina si se la interpreta a la luz de la polémica que la filosofía del límite mantiene con la postmodernidad.
