This study examines the concept of food morality and explores its implications for today's world. The analysis carried out allowed us to develop a theoretical construct that approaches food morality from a holistic and interconnected perspective, providing us with a new way of understanding it. This new perspective on food morality will serve as an overarching framework for guiding individual choices, public policy making, and transformative actions needed to address the complex challenges facing food systems in the modern world. El estudio es una aportación teórica cuyo objetivo es valorar un conjunto de elementos que sustenten la conveniencia de crear un diseño institucional que permita la funcionalidad y permanencia de un modelo de desarrollo de fuerte integración social en América Latina, con énfasis en el caso venezolano. Se construyó un modelo para el diseño de instituciones bajo un marco valorativo neosocialista, con el fin de darles respuestas a la dinámicas de cambios sociales en los territorios venezolanos y America Latina.

Food ethics in the indigenous context is associated with a historical and profound relationship that indigenous groups have with nature. To address this relationship and identify the food uses associated with the maguey plant from a biocultural perspective among the Ngigua indigenous people living in the municipality of Tlacotepec de Benito Juárez in Puebla, the three main communities in the municipality of Tlacotepec de Benito Juárez that make use of the maguey plant were chosen. The study was carried out with (...) a qualitative approach, using a semi-structured interview as a research technique. The analysis carried out recognises the importance of the maguey plant as a biocultural resource for the Ngigua in a context of ethical deliberation. Among the food uses associated with the maguey plant, the following are identified: pulque (a drink of pre-Hispanic origin) and red worm. Women play an important role, participating in 80% of the preparation of both foods. The cultural environment of the maguey is a way of life that, in the case of the Ngigua people, represents a strategic element for survival. In times of food crisis, the study shows how ethnic food strategies in a context of ethical deliberation can constitute an alternative for the design of food solutions in territories with food shortages. Organizational legitimacy is an important resource, which provides access to other resources. As such, it impacts the survival chances of organizations. In this study, we examine the individual judgments of the owner-managers of small-and-medium size enterprises (SMEs) of the legitimacy of their own enterprise as well as their perception of the legitimacy evaluations of relevant stakeholders. This research is based on interviews with owner-managers of SMEs located in the Lorraine region of France. The results show that when legitimacy is perceived (...) as acquired, their judgments are based on instrumental, relational and moral evaluations, whereas when legitimacy is perceived as being deferred, judgement is based on mainly instrumental evaluations and when they report not being in position to judge their own legitimacy, their judgements are based on moral evaluations. In addition, the legitimacy judgements employed are associated with the different types of legitimacy sought by the SME owner-managers. Moreover, they perceive the validity cues coming from clients and employees as the most important sources of legitimacy. Other stakeholders are accorded secondary importance in granting legitimacy. Né en 1921, Edgar Morin est un penseur connu, mais heureusement pas toujours reconnu dans les milieux scientifiques. Sa ronflante Méthode, qui établit que les effets d’une action échappent souvent à son auteur en provoquant des conséquences méconnues, comble surtout des médias trop heureux d’avoir sous la main un théoricien tout-terrain aux analyses grandiloquentes. D’ailleurs, la femme, l’entreprise, le football, la France, l’Europe, les pays de l’est, les pays arabes, le monde... sont, pour Edgar Morin, complexes. En quelques (...) années, Edgar Morin a ainsi réussi à amener la gauche à jeter Marx et ses analyses tranchées aux poubelles de l’Histoire. Cet article a pour but de montrer l’influence des idées d’Edgar Morin dans le contexte brésilien, en resituant le rapprochement qui a eu lieu entre le Service social du commerce et plus particulièrement son Escola SESC , et la pensée de cet intellectuel qui alimente grandement plusieurs domaines de la connaissance. Le SESC est une entité qui a été fondée en 1946 au niveau national. Il agit autour de la notion de bien-être social, intervenant dans les secteurs de la (...) culture, de l’éducation, de la santé et des loisirs. En 2008, le SESC a inauguré un internat-école secondaire qui constitue un modèle innovateur d’enseignement pour le Brésil. La pensée d’Edgar Morin a guidé la construction du projet pédagogique de l’Escola SESC et sert d’inspiration pour faire durer et consolider cette institution.This article aims to show the influence of the ideas of Edgar Morin in the Brazilian context, situating the reconciliation that took place between the Social Service of Commerce and more specifically its Escola SESC , and thought of this great intellectual powers several areas of knowledge. SESC is an entity that was founded in 1946 at the national level. It is based on the notion of social welfare, involved in the fields of culture, education, health and recreation. In 2008, the SESC has opened a boarding-school, which is an innovative model of education in Brazil. The thought of Edgar Morin has guided the construction of the educational project of the Escola SESC and serves as an inspiration to continue and strengthen this institution. (shrink)

Este artigo tem como pretensão apresentar alguns elementos teóricos da teoria da complexidade presente em Edgar Morin. A proposta segue por um viés de aproximar o leitor da compreensão de complexidade e completude; a polidisciplinaridade e a transdiciplinaridade com vista em destacar como a abordagem de Morin almeja despertar o conhecimento que, segundo o autor, esta adormedico.

Cet ouvrage introduit l'épistémologie de la complexité d'Edgar Morin (1921-), qui épouse l'esprit de la métaphysique de la connaissance consacrée aux relations complexes entre la simplicité, la simplicité et la complexité. Deux raisons à cette dialogique pensante : d'abord, Morin contribue de manière significative à la critique du scientisme et de l'apriorisme. Ensuite, son corpus transversal ouvre un espace des possibles de méditation de l'être pris dans son indétermination totale et dans une tension essentielle entre ce qui est (...) et ce qui pourrait être. C'est donc une contribution à l'avènement d'une pensée interstitielle qui ne dévalorise pas les conditions de possibilité d'une science de la complexité. (shrink)

This article shows that in two respects, Gödel's incompleteness theorem strongly supports the arguments of Edgar Morin's complexity paradigm. First, from the viewpoint of the content of Gödel's theorem, the latter justifies the basic view of complexity paradigm according to which knowledge is a dynamic, unfinished process, and develops by way of self-criticism and self-transcendence. Second, from the viewpoint of the proof procedure of Gödel's theorem, the latter confirms the complexity paradigm's circular line of inference through which is formed (...) the all-round knowledge of a concrete object. Edgar Morin took an early lead within the French intellectual community, but also in comparison with parallel reflections in the English-speaking world, as far as critical discussion of the epistemology of the new sciences of complexity is concerned. His "complex thought" raises many intriguing questions and offers a dazzling synthesis of a wide range of fields, from physics to biology to psychology and the social sciences. However, Morin's road to complexity bypasses some crucial issues in philosophy and political (...) economy. Therefore, although Morin's insights remain invaluable, one has reasons to be a little skeptical about the exact nature of the reform of thought he has sketched out. (shrink)

The argument of this paper is centered around two claims: first, that Hegel is the founder of what is now commonly referred to as the new science; and second, that Edgar Morin is Hegel’s legitimate heir. The point of the paper will be, on the one hand, to demonstrate Hegel’s particular relevance to any reflection on the new science that aspires to a philosophically sound self-consciousness; and on the other, to show how Morin, while firmly in the speculative (...) tradition inaugurated by Hegel, nevertheless represents a critical turning point in this tradition. As we shall see, the dialogue between Hegel and Morin will entail significant reformulations of some of the central concepts of both thinkers, notably with regard to the concept of the absolute and the “meta” point of view. This paper analyzes the necessity and operation of conceptual macromolecule inside Edgar Morin’s school of thought due to the significant connection of his epistemological proposal and the language transformation with which the knowledge of reality is expressed in complex thought. This paper is organized as follows. First, we pointed the essential link between conceptualizer/observer subject and the macro-conceptualization. Second, we interpret the system or complex basic unity expounded in Method I based on complexity principles. Morin (1921) founded the complex mode of thinking in order to remedy the defects of the Western classic simple mode of thinking. In doing so, he approached to some degree the mode of thinking inherent to the Eastern civilization. This article elucidates that for some principles of Morin's complex thinking, such as correlation of opposites, recursive causality, and union of unity of multiplicity, there were similar ideas in Chinese classic philosophy. This shows that the complex paradigm of thinking, (...) in a certain point of view, will be the fusion of Western and Eastern cultural factors. Besides, in integrating his theory of complexity with the reality of our time to find out solutions to the issues of globalization, Morin has become one of the representative thinkers of the planetary age of humankind.
