What is theory?: cultural theory as discourse and dialogue.P. V. Zima - 2007 - New York: Continuum.
An interrogation of the term 'theory' from the perspective of linguistic discourse Zima offers a new definition of theory from a cultural and sociological perspective, with a view to encountering heterogenerous points of view in critical dialogue.

    An axiomatics for nonstandard set theory, based on von Neumann–Bernays–Gödel Theory.P. V. Andreev & E. I. Gordon - 2001 - Journal of Symbolic Logic 66 (3):1321-1341.
We present an axiomatic framework for nonstandard analysis-the Nonstandard Class Theory which extends von Neumann-Godel-Bernays Set Theory by adding a unary predicate symbol St to the language of NBG means that the class X is standard) and axioms-related to it- analogs of Nelson's idealization, standardization and transfer principles. Those principles are formulated as axioms, rather than axiom schemes, so that NCT is finitely axiomatizable. NCT can be considered as a theory of definable classes of Bounded Set Theory by V. Kanovei (...)

Emotions and Socialization in Light of the Information Theory of the Emotions.P. V. Simonov - 1981 - Russian Studies in Philosophy 20 (3):60-77.
The improvement of man, of his ideological and political, occupational, and moral qualities, is a most important condition for success in the building of communism. The socialization of the new man as a creatively active, spiritually rich, and harmoniously developed personality is a goal in our Party's program. It is becoming increasingly obvious that the process of socialization means much more than familiarizing a person with the ideological principles and norms of behavior of a citizen of developed socialist society. Socrates (...)

    Iliad 24.649: Another Solution.P. V. Jones - 1989 - Classical Quarterly 39 (01):247-.
    J. T. Hooker argues that at Il. 24.649 πικερτομων must mean ‘taunting’ and, since ‘taunting’ makes no sense, that πικερτομων must have entered our Iliad at this point from a version of the Iliad slightly different from ours in which it did make sense. I wish to argue that πικερτομων has a meaning different from ‘taunting’, which makes good sense of this, and every other, context.

    Formal Logic and Philosophy.P. V. Tavanets - 1963 - Russian Studies in Philosophy 2 (1):3-9.
The problem of the relationship between formal logic and philosophy, which arose when formal logic arose, continues to concern both Soviet and foreign philosophers and logicians. Interest in this problem is traceable to a number of factors, among which, it should be noted at the outset, is the appearance of dialectical, logic. With the emergence of dialectical logic, the question of the relationship of formal logic to philosophy is posed anew. No matter how we approach the question of the subject (...)

    On The Semantic Definition of Truth.P. V. Tavanets - 1963 - Russian Studies in Philosophy 2 (1):96-101.
In speaking of the reasons for the appearance of semantics, certain writers note the following three problems the solution of which demanded semantic analysis: 1) the problem of antinomies; 2) the problem of refining and explaining the basic concepts of formalized logic and mathematics; and 3) the problem of the complete formalization of logic.

    Some Problems in the Logic of Scientific Knowledge.P. V. Tavanets & V. S. Shvyrev - 1962 - Russian Studies in Philosophy 1 (3):33-41.
By the "logic of scientific knowledge," or simply "the logic of science" we mean the discipline in philosophy concerned with the application of the techniques and methods of logic to scientific knowledge. In studying certain aspects of the logic of scientific knowledge it is possible to employ successfully not only the methods of dialectical logic but those of formal logic. It is the latter that will be the special concern of the present article.

Freedom, low and imagination the lectures of F.w.J. Schelling in 1800-1810s.P. V. Rezvykh - 2019 - RUDN Journal of Philosophy 23 (1):7-18.
The gives the detailed analysis of the ratio of freedom and imagination in an unpublished manuscript written by F.V.Y. Schelling, which contains the materials for the lecture course read at Erlangen University in 1820-1821. The author focuses on the question of imagination as a condition for the possibility to unfold the modal differences that provide the hierarchy of predicative definitions. The article shows that both the draft philosophy of mythology and the philosophy of revelation are a direct continuation of the (...)

    A theory of hyperfinite sets.P. V. Andreev & E. I. Gordon - 2006 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 143 (1-3):3-19.
We develop an axiomatic set theory — the Theory of Hyperfinite Sets THS— which is based on the idea of the existence of proper subclasses of large finite sets. We demonstrate how theorems of classical continuous mathematics can be transfered to THS, prove consistency of THS, and present some applications.

Intelligible Character and Revelation of Person: F.W.J. Schelling “Psychological Scheme”.P. V. Rezvykh - 2019 - RUDN Journal of Philosophy 23 (4):461-470.
This article focuses on analysis of a handwritten fragment by F. W. J. Schelling “Psychological scheme”, which is a study of main principles of philosophical anthropology. The article reconstructs the circumstances of creating the mentioned text, which are connected with the trusting relationship between Schelling and Bavarian Crown Prince Maximilian; it also highlights the parallels between the text and the earlier Schelling's works exploring philosophical-anthropological problematic: “Philosophical Investigations into the Essence of Human Freedom” and “Stuttgart Seminars”. In the course of (...)

Lenin's work "On the Significance of Militant Materialism," written in the spring of 1922, is justly regarded as the philosophical testament of our leader. In it, the tasks of the day were merged with the tasks of the entire epoch on the basis of a profound analysis of reality.
