    Patricius’s Enigmatic Delivery through the Structure of Peripatetic Discussions.Ćiril Čoh - 2019 - Filozofska Istrazivanja 39 (3):617-634.
This paper is based on the assumption that, in Patricius’s philosophy, the totality is analogous to the philosophy of the totality, that is, to the work that delivers it. Everything that arises in the totality has its emplacement, its chora. Likewise, everything that is provided in the philosophical work must be given in its place. With the number of its parts and the mutual relations between these parts, Patricius’s work Peripatetic Discussions shows us that the work is very carefully structured. (...)

Kant to (...)

Narrowing the Gap between China and Japan: Three Dimensions of National Identity and the Korean Factor.Gilbert Rozman - 2013 - Japanese Journal of Political Science 14 (1):31-49.
In 2010–12, Sino-Japanese relations deteriorated without the Yasukuni Shrine or Chinese human rights violations in the forefront. To improve relations, attention should turn to what I label the ideological, sectoral, and horizontal dimensions of a national identity gap between these countries. They have each figured in the decline and offer more promise than the temporal dimension, with its symbols of wartime memories, and the vertical dimension, where sensitive Chinese internal affairs are at stake. The sectoral dimension comprises political, economic, and (...)

The Importance of Intergenerational Leadership Praxes and Availability of Key Information for Older Employee Burnout and Engagement in the Context of Firm Size.Maja Rožman & Borut Milfelner - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
The main aim of this study was to analyze the effects of availability of key information and intergenerational leadership on burnout divided into physical symptoms of burnout and emotional symptoms of burnout and work engagement regarding the firm size during the coronavirus disease 2019. The empirical study included 583 older employees in Slovenia who participated in the survey during the COVID-19 pandemic. Structural equation modeling was used to explore the effects between constructs. We analyzed structural paths for the entire sample (...)

Excursion to Greece in 1958 with the Classicists from the University of Ljubljana.Ksenija Rozman - 2022 - Clotho 4 (2):351-355.
The first excursion to Greece for classicists after World War II – and likely the first one since the university was established in 1919 – was devised by Professor Milan Grošelj for his classical seminar in 1958. Those were the years when every effort was made to eliminate classical gymnasia in Slovenia, and they were eventually abolished in 1958. However, we, the students of those days, still considered ourselves fortunate. Our professors were professionally sound; they took their calling seriously and (...)

Internationalism and Asianism in Japanese Strategic Thought from Meiji to Heisei.Gilbert Rozman - 2008 - Japanese Journal of Political Science 9 (2):209-232.
Around 1907, 1987, and 2007 Japan faced a crossroads in defining internationalism and Asianism, determining their relative priorities, and assessing their relevance for national identity. Similarities can be found in the far-reaching changes occurring in Japan's external environment in the three periods and in the importance of setting a new direction for strategic thinking. Misjudgments in the first two periods are reviewed in order to draw lessons for responding to today's challenges. A distorted outlook on internationalism led to rejection of (...)

Japan's Images of China in the 1990s: Are They Ready for China's 'Smile Diplomacy' or Bush's 'Strong Diplomacy'?Gilbert Rozman - 2001 - Japanese Journal of Political Science 2 (1):97-125.
Both the US and China are pressing Japan to tilt its foreign policy in their direction. Japan's response depends on views of China, which turned negative as assumptions proved incorrect. Early expectations were challenged in 1990–94, despite hopes of becoming a bridge between the US and China, and were dashed from 1995. The struggle among four schools of thought intensified. The full engagement group lost the most ground. The predominantly engagement, potential threat group was attacked as the mainstream, but it (...)

Slovenian Validation of the Children’s Perceived Use of Self-Regulated Learning Inventory.Luka Komidar, Anja Podlesek, Tina Pirc, Sonja Pečjak, Katja Depolli Steiner, Melita Puklek Levpušček, Alenka Gril, Bojana Boh Podgornik, Aleš Hladnik, Alenka Kavčič, Ciril Bohak, Žiga Lesar, Matija Marolt, Matevž Pesek & Cirila Peklaj - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
The importance of self-regulated learning has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic and measures for assessing students’ self-regulation skills and knowledge are greatly needed. We present the results of the first thorough adaptation of the Children’s Perceived use of Self-Regulated Learning Inventory. The inventory, consisting of 15 scales measuring nine components of SRL, was administered to a sample of 541 Slovenian ninth graders. Confirmatory factor analyses supported internal structure validity of most components, but two components required some structural modifications. Internal consistency (...)

  25. Grande Sertão: Veredas by João Guimarães Rosa.Felipe W. Martinez, Nancy Fumero & Ben Segal - 2013 - Continent 3 (1):27-43.
INTRODUCTION BY NANCY FUMERO What is a translation that stalls comprehension? That, when read, parsed, obfuscates comprehension through any language – English, Portuguese. It is inevitable that readers expect fidelity from translations. That language mirror with a sort of precision that enables the reader to become of another location, condition, to grasp in English in a similar vein as readers of Portuguese might from João Guimarães Rosa’s GRANDE SERTÃO: VEREDAS. There is the expectation that translations enable mobility. That what was (...)
