In der Architekturtheorie ist häufig von der Identität von Bauwerken oder Städten die Rede. Der Ausdruck „Identität“ bezieht sich dabei auf etwas, was man „spezifischen Charakter“ nennen könnte. Wir schlagen eine symboltheoretische Explikation dieses Identitätsbegriffs vor und zeigen, in welchem Sinn ein Bauwerk verschiedene, sich verändernde oder gar konfligierende Identitäten haben kann. Identitäten von Bauwerken werden oft als mehr oder weniger klar, positiv, angemessen oder stark bewertet. Solche Attribute diskutieren wir, indem wir epistemische, materielle und strukturelle Bewertungen von Identitäten (...) unterscheiden. Abschliessend weisen wir Wechselwirkungen zwischen Identitäten von Bauwerken und Identitäten (im Sinn des Selbstverständnisses) von Personen und Gesellschaften hin. (shrink)

Według koncepcji Mariana Mazura, człowiek jest systemem autonomicznym zdolnym do samosterowania. Jedna z podstawowych cech tego systemu – dynamizm charakteru – jest możliwa do wyrażenia za pomocą logarytmu naturalnego z ilorazu starzenia się do współczynnika rozbudowy systemu autonomicznego. Niniejszy artykuł prezentuje Kwestionariusz Dynamizmu Charakteru. Narzędzie to stworzone zostało w celu empirycznego przetestowania założeń teorii Mazura oraz w celu uchwycenia potencjalnych związków dynamizmu charakteru z innymi konstruktami, osadzonymi w tradycjach psychologicznych: na przykład Regulacyjną Teorią Temperamentu. Kwestionariusz Dynamizmu Charakteru mierzy dynamizm charakteru (...) na skali jakościowej i ilościowej. Artykuł prezentuje teorię Mazura, jej związki z teorią temperamentu Strelaua, narzędzie badawcze opracowane przez autorów i wyniki wstępnych analiz – przeprowadzonych na grupie 54 osób. Obserwacje poczynione w badaniach pilotażowych prezentują obiecujący obraz. Sugerują zgodność teorii Mazura z danymi empirycznymi oraz możliwość rozszerzenia rzeczonej teorii, dzięki obserwacjom efektów, niewyrażonych bezpośrednio w pracy Mazura. (shrink)

W NINIEJSZYM opracowaniu analizuję klauzulę dobra wspólnego zawartą w art. 1 Konstytucji Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej z 2 kwietnia 1997 r., zmierzając do uwyraźnienia, w jakim sensie można mówić o jej prawnonaturalnym charakterze (zatem i do zarysowania możliwych znaczeń zwrotu "prawnonaturalny charakter klauzuli dobra wspólnego") oraz do ujawnienia „momentów" prawnonaturalnych, które mogą wchodzić w grę przy interpretacji tej klauzuli.

The purpose of the text is to demonstrate a distinction between good or virtue and evil or vice, introduced by Hannah Arendt on the grounds of the novel by Hermann Melville Billy Budd. I analyze this distinction in relation to the life story of Romulus Gaita, the hero of the autobiographical novel My father Romulus, written by the Australian ethicist Raimond Gaita. The first paragraph deals with the said distinction, indicating the re-evaluation of such concept as virtue and vice in (...) Melville’s novel and his understanding of virtue. Then, I make an attempt to answer the question of why Gaita writes about his father using a category of character instead of virtue. Then, I reflect on the relationship between virtue, character, goodness and Romulus’s mental illness. Finally, I answer the question about the metaphysical foundation on which Gaita forms his conviction about the superiority of Good and goodness over virtue, and I show what particular components make up the ethics of goodness assumed by Romulus. This paper explores the question whether utilitarianism is compatible with the autonomy of the moral agent. The paper begins by considering Bernard Williams' famous complaint that utilitarianism cannot do justice to the personal projects and commitments constitutive of character. Recent work (by Peter Railton among others) has established that a utilitarian agent need not be free of such personal projects and commitments, and could even affirm them morally at the level of second"order reflection. But a different and more subtle problem (...) confronts this approach: the use of utilitarian principles to justify the cultivation of personal projects and attachments undermines the autonomy to support this objection, according to which autonomy is a matter of acting in a way one can reflectively endorse. Ausgehend von Kant, wird der Charakter der Jurisprudenz als Wissen- schaft für die beiden Hauptgebiete des Rechts, Zivilrecht und öffent- liches Recht, getrennt dargestellt und zwar im Zivilrecht anhand der Strukturtheorie des Rechts von Kempskis und im öffentlichen Recht durch den eigenen Versuch der «festgeschriebenen Politiktheorie».

In dem Artikel werden der Hintersinn, die Rolle sowie die Wichtigkeit der moralischen Identität für die Ethik und eine vortreffliche Lebensführung besprochen . Die moderne Gesellschaft ist eine Gesellschaft des ununterbrochenen Wandels und Ungewissheitsgefühls. Die Welt erscheint bruchstückhaft und diskontinuierlich. Es ist äußert prekär, in einer solchen Welt eine Daueridentität zu entfalten. In der Vergangenheit stand die Wahl des Lebensprojekts für eine Wahl aller Wahlen. In der flüssigen Modernität fungiert die Identität flexibel, in einem Zustand der Dauerumwandlung, in welchem das (...) Individuum sich selbst stetig aufs Neue formuliert, indem es zu jemand anderem wird, als es bisher war. Die Zentralproblematik, von welcher her dieses Paper die angeschnittenen Themen angeht, wirft die Frage auf, ob uns unsere moralische Identität jemals mit guten Anlässen zur Aktion versieht und ferner, welche der Moraltheorien die geeignetste ist, um eine positive Beantwortung dieser Frage anzubieten. The question addressed in this article is to what extent a destructed concept of religion can be said to characterize the philosophical method of Martin Heidegger. In order to approach this question, we first characterize his method as “Vollzug der Fraglichkeit”: philosophy in its deepest sense does not mean to give answers to questions but to ask questions. According to Heidegger, the execution of questioning consists in the “transforming repetition” of the leading question of philosophy in order to ask the (...) basic question of philosophy. In the second part of the article, we reflect on the “religious” character of Heidegger’s method of questioning. The reflection makes use of different etymological derivations of the word ‘Religion’: relegere, re-eligere, religare, relinquere. In the third part of the article, we discuss what Heidegger’s “religious” method of philosophy means for present questions concerning religion. To that end, we finish with a confrontation between Heidegger and Derrida with respect to the “religious” method of philosophy. (shrink)
