  1. COVID-19 Vaccination Behavior Among Frontline Healthcare Workers in Pakistan: The Theory of Planned Behavior, Perceived Susceptibility, and Anticipated Regret.Muhammad Khayyam, Shuai Chuanmin, Muhammad Asad Salim, Arjumand Nizami, Jawad Ali, Hussain Ali, Nawab Khan, Muhammad Ihtisham & Raheel Anjum - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
Healthcare workers in Pakistan are still fighting at the frontline to control the spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 and have been identified as the earliest beneficiaries for COVID-19 vaccination by the health authorities of the country. Besides, the high vaccination rates of frontline healthcare workers are essential to overcome the ongoing pandemic and reduce the vaccines hesitancy among the general population. The current research employed the theory of planned behavior to investigate the COVID-19 vaccination behavior among FHWs in (...)

Wiener and Hyper-Wiener Indices of Polygonal Cylinder and Torus.Zhi-Ba Peng, Abdul Rauf Nizami, Zaffar Iqbal, Muhammad Mobeen Munir, Hafiz Muhammad Waqar Ahmed & Jia-Bao Liu - 2021 - Complexity 2021:1-15.
In this study, we first introduce polygonal cylinder and torus using Cartesian products and topologically identifications and then find their Wiener and hyper-Wiener indices using a quick, interesting technique of counting. Our suggested mathematical structures could be of potential interests in representation of computer networks and enhancing lattice hardware security.

Despite the frequency of stillbirths, the subsequent implications are overlooked and underappreciated. We present findings from comprehensive, systematic literature reviews, and new analyses of published and unpublished data, to establish the effect of stillbirth on parents, families, health-care providers, and societies worldwide. Data for direct costs of this event are sparse but suggest that a stillbirth needs more resources than a livebirth, both in the perinatal period and in additional surveillance during subsequent pregnancies. Indirect and intangible costs of stillbirth are (...)

The molecular tug of war between immunity and fertility: Emergence of conserved signaling pathways and regulatory mechanisms.Nikki Naim, Francis R. G. Amrit, T. Brooke McClendon, Judith L. Yanowitz & Arjumand Ghazi - 2020 - Bioessays 42 (12):2000103.
Reproduction and immunity are energy intensive, intimately linked processes in most organisms. In women, pregnancy is associated with widespread immunological adaptations that alter immunity to many diseases, whereas, immune dysfunction has emerged as a major cause for infertility in both men and women. Deciphering the molecular bases of this dynamic association is inherently challenging in mammals. This relationship has been traditionally studied in fast‐living, invertebrate species, often in the context of resource allocation between life history traits. More recently, these studies (...)

The earlier volume in this series dealt with two religions of Indian origin, namely, Buddhism and Jainism. The Indian religious scene, however, is characterized by not only religions which originated in India but also by religions which entered India from outside India and made their home here. Thus religious life in India has been enlivened throughout its history by the presence of religions of foreign origin on its soil almost from the very time they came into existence. This volume covers (...)

    Diagnostic reasoning in Nizami 'Aruzi's Four Discourses.Neil Krishan Aggarwal - 2010 - Medical Humanities 36 (2):88-92.
Background Most studies on medical reasoning focus on contemporary allopathic practitioners. Here, the significance of diagnostic sense in Nizāmī ‘Arūzī’s Four Discourses (Chahār Maqāle), an influential text that circulated widely throughout the Islamic world, is explored. Methods After a brief introduction, key passages are translated on how doctors should cultivate analytical skills. Results Nizāmī ‘Arūzī cites three sources of diagnostic authority: (1) education in the texts of medical experts, (2) formal logic and (3) belief in the power of God. Conclusions (...)

  18. A Key to the Treasure of the Hakim: Artistic and Humanistic Aspects of Ganjavi’s Khamsa.Johan Christoph Bürgel & Christine van Ruymbeke (eds.) - 2011 - Leiden University Press.
This volume consists of thirteen essays by eminent scholars, each focusing on different aspects of the Khamsa, a collection of five long poems written by the Persian poet Nizami of Ganja. The cycle’s heroes, Khosrow and Shirin, Leili and Majnun, and Iskandar, have become household names all over the Islamic world. Considering the work from such perspectives as art history, comparative literature, science, philosophy, and mysticism, the contributors revive and challenge traditional views on the poet and his work.
