    Divergent Ethical Perspectives on the Duty-to-Warn Principle With HIV Patients.Robert B. Schneider, Kristi M. Fuller & Steven K. Huprich - 2003 - Ethics and Behavior 13 (3):263-278.
This article presents the case of an HIV-positive client who reported having sexual relations with an unknowing partner. The issue raised is whether the therapist was required to warn the unknowing partner, similar to the Tarasoff mandate that is imposed on therapists. The case is analyzed from an ethical framework similar to that presented by Beauchamp and Childress. Two opinions are presented, each leading to different conclusions about whether the therapist should inform the unknowing partner. It is concluded that although (...)

    What an epigenome remembers.Ulrike C. Lange & Robert Schneider - 2010 - Bioessays 32 (8):659-668.
During mammalian development, maintenance of cell fate through mitotic divisions require faithful replication not only of the DNA but also of a particular epigenetic state. Germline cells have the capacity of erasing this epigenetic memory at crucial times during development, thereby resetting their epigenome. Certain marks, however, appear to escape this reprogramming, which allows their transmission to the offspring and potentially guarantees transgenerational epigenetic inheritance. Here we discuss the molecular requirements for faithful transmission of epigenetic information and our current knowledge (...)

Husserl and Heidegger: an Essay on the Question of Intentionality.Robert O. Schneider - 1977 - Philosophy Today 21 (4):368-375.
This article explores the husserlian and heideggerian positions on intentional analysis in an attempt to understand the implications of each. Husserl, For whom intentionality is one and the same with consciousness, Brackets all worldly phenomena. However, Transcendental ego ("cogito-Sum" intention) is somewhat inadequate as proof that a thinking being must exist. Heidegger, Like husserl, Accentuates intentionality, But extends it beyond cognition. Intention is pre-Cognitive. Heidegger, Whose ontological analysis enables being to manifest itself in actual existence, Thus considers beings as they (...)

Curiositas.Andreas Speer & Robert Maximilian Schneider (eds.) - 2022 - Berlin: De Gruyter.
