Das Ringen Um Sinn Und Anerkennung – Eine Psychodynamische Sicht Auf Das Phänomen des Neuroenhancement The Struggle for Meaning and Acknowledgement—A Psychodynamic View of the Phenomenon of Neuroenhancement.

Relational Well-Being and Wealth: Māori Businesses and an Ethic of Care.Chellie Spiller, Ljiljana Erakovic, Manuka Henare & Edwina Pio - 2011 - Journal of Business Ethics 98 (1):153-169.
Care is at the heart of the Maori values system, which calls for humans to be kaitiaki, caretakers of the maun y the life-force, in each other and in nature. The relational Five Well-beings approach, based on four case studies of Maori businesses, demonstrates how business can create spiritual, cultural, social, environmental and economic well-being. A Well-beings approach entails praxis, which brings values and practice together with the purpose of consciously creating well-being and, in so doing, creates multi-dimensional wealth. Underlying (...)

    Formalna analiza značenja u prirodnim jezicima.Ljiljana Saric - 2006 - Prolegomena 5 (1):65-88.

Speaking Without Interpreting: A Reply to Bouma on Autism and Davidsonian Interpretation.Kristin Andrews & Ljiljana Radenovic - 2006 - Philosophical Psychology 19 (5):663 – 678.
We clarify some points previously made by Andrews, and defend the claim that Davidson's account of belief can be and is challenged by the existence of some people with autism. We argue that both Bouma and Andrews (Philosophical Psychology, 15) blurred the subtle distinctions between the psychological concepts of theory of mind and joint attention and the Davidsonian concepts of interpretation and triangulation. And we accept that appeal to control group studies is not the appropriate place to look for an (...)

    Formal Analysis of Meaning in Natural Languages.Ljiljana Saric - 2006 - Prolegomena 5 (1):65-88.
Broadly, the subject of this paper is the relation between logic and linguistics. More narrowly, it concentrates on formal semantics. The first part of the text discusses the topics and methods of formal semantics, and the second part the history of formal semantics. Formal semantic analysis has not been widely known and applied in our research community, and formal methods have been applied extremely rarely in linguistic analyses. This is why it is useful to point out the significant achievements of (...)

    The Poetry of Estrangement or Utopia Suviniana.Zorica Đergović-Joksimović - 2017 - Utopian Studies 28 (1):45-71.
For decades, Darko Suvin has enjoyed a worldwide reputation as a distinguished science fiction and utopian scholar, best known for his seminal work Metamorphoses of Science Fiction: On the Poetics and History of a Literary Genre, equally important for both SF and utopian studies. Suvin's introduction of the Russian formalist/Brechtian–inspired concept of estrangement proved to be revolutionary in both academic fields of research. His definition of utopia is now one of the recognized stepping-stones in the study of utopia.1However, it is (...)

As a consequence of the workshop's success in attracting mathematicians and computer scientists from around the world, it was decided at the 2006 meeting to go global, to change the workshop's name, and to hold it in appropriate venues around the world. The workshop supports basic research on the interface between mathematics and computing, specifically * Algorithms & Data Structures * Complexity Theory * (...)

Epistemic authority and rhetorical strategies in crisis circumstances.Ljiljana Radenović & Petar Nurkić - 2021 - In Nenad Cekić (ed.), Етика и истина у доба кризе. pp. 153-180.
In this paper we will examine how experts from certain epistemic networks behave in the circumstances of a crisis. Our main goal is to show rhetorical strategies experts use to strengthen their own epistemic authority. We will do that by analysing experts’ strategies used in two pandemics: the one caused by A h1n1 virus in 2009 and the current pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2. There are four different, but interrelated, rhetorical strategies, that epistemic experts use to consolidate their epistemic authority. Two (...)

Explanations, Mechanisms, and Developmental Models: Why the Nativist Account of Early Perceptual Learning is Not a Proper Mechanistic Model.Ljiljana Radenovic - 2013 - Filozofija I Društvo 24 (4):161-180.
In the last several decades a number of studies on perceptual learning in early infancy have suggested that even infants seem to be sensitive to the way objects move and interact in the world. In order to explain the early emergence of infants? sensitivity to causal patterns in the world some psychologists have proposed that core knowledge of objects and causal relations is innate. The goal of this paper is to examine the nativist developmental model by investigating the criteria that (...)

Fine-Tuning Nativism: The 'Nurtured Nature' and Innate Cognitive Structures.Slobodan Perovic & Ljiljana Radenovic - 2011 - Phenomenology and the Cognitive Sciences 10 (3):399-417.
    S. Oyama’s prominent account of the Parity Thesis states that one cannot distinguish in a meaningful way between nature-based (i.e. gene-based) and nurture-based (i.e. environment-based) characteristics in development because the information necessary for the resulting characteristics is contained at both levels. Oyama as well as P. E. Griffiths and K. Stotz argue that the Parity Thesis has far-reaching implications for developmental psychology in that both nativist and interactionist developmental accounts of psychological capacities that presuppose a substantial nature/nurture dichotomy are inadequate. (...)

According to the mental continuity claim (MCC), human mental faculties are physical and beneficial to human survival, so they must have evolved gradually from ancestral forms and we should expect to see their precursors across species. Materialism of mind coupled with Darwin’s evolutionary theory leads directly to such claims and even today arguments for animal mental properties are often presented with the MCC as a premise. However, the MCC has been often challenged among contemporary scholars. It is usually argued that (...)

  30. Is Nativism in Psychology Reconcilable with the Parity Thesis in Biology?Slobodan Perovic & Ljiljana Radenovic - 2008
The Modern Synthesis of Darwinism and genetics regards non-genetic factors as merely constraints on the genetic variations that result in the characteristics of organisms. Even though the environment (including social interactions and culture) is as necessary as genes in terms of selection and inheritance, it does not contain the information that controls the development of the traits. S. Oyama’s account of the Parity Thesis, however, states that one cannot conceivably distinguish in a meaningful way between nature-based (i.e., gene-based) and nurture-based (...)
