Celem artykułu jest wprowadzenie do omówienia strategii cenzorskich stosowanych wobec utworów Włodzimierza Scisłowskiego złożonych do publikacji w piśmie satyrycznym „Kaktus” w latach 1957–1960. Materiał źródłowy stanowi zbiór kryptotekstów, czyli poufnych dokumentów oceniających artykuły z tygodnika, powstały w Wojewódzkim Urzędzie Kontroli Prasy, Publikacji i Widowisk w Poznaniu. Cenzorzy ingerowali w utwory satyryczne Scisłowskiego – we fraszki, wiersze, poematy, ballady, zarzucając autorowi złośliwe i przejaskrawione przedstawianie rzeczywistości politycznej i społecznej kraju. Część utworów ukazała się po wprowadzeniu (...) narzuconych przez urząd cenzury zmian, część nie została dopuszczona do publikacji. (shrink)

Although public interest in sustainability increases and consumer attitudes are mainly positive, behavioral patterns are not univocally consistent with attitudes. This study investigates the presumed gap between favorable attitude towards sustainable behavior and behavioral intention to purchase sustainable food products. The impact of involvement, perceived availability, certainty, perceived consumer effectiveness (PCE), values, and social norms on consumers’ attitudes and intentions towards sustainable food products is analyzed. The empirical research builds on a survey with a sample of 456 young consumers, using (...) a questionnaire and an experimental design with manipulation of key constructs through showing advertisements for sustainable dairy. Involvement with sustainability, certainty, and PCE have a significant positive impact on attitude towards buying sustainable dairy products, which in turn correlates strongly with intention to buy. Low perceived availability of sustainable products explains why intentions to buy remain low, although attitudes might be positive. On the reverse side, experiencing social pressure from peers (social norm) explains intentions to buy, despite rather negative personal attitudes. This study shows that more sustainable and ethical food consumption can be stimulated through raising involvement, PCE, certainty, social norms, and perceived availability. (shrink)

Artifacts are probably our most obvious everyday encounter with technology. Therefore, a good understanding of the nature of technical artifacts is a relevant part of technological literacy. In this article we draw from the philosophy of technology to develop a conceptualization of technical artifacts that can be used for educational purposes. Furthermore we report a small exploratory empirical study to see to what extent teachers’ intuitive ideas about artifacts match with the way philosophers write about the nature of artifacts. Rozważania nad ludzkim życiem prowadziły często do wniosku, że w człowieku istnieje pierwiastek życia, który nazwano duszą. Koncepcję człowieka, złożonego z duszy i ciała, przyjęły różne religie i systemy filozoficzne. Z tej koncepcji wynika problem animacji duszy, czyli próba określenia momentu, w którym dusza łączy się z ciałem, tworząc człowieka. W tym kontekście pojawia się również kwestia pochodzenia ludzkiej duszy. Na pytania o pochodzenie duszy i moment jej syntezy z materią ciała w ludzkiej matce proponowano w historii filozofii różne odpowiedzi. (...) W systemie filozoficznym Eriugeny człowiek jest bytem, złożonym z duszy i ciała. Dusza jest istotą człowieka. Istotą duszy jest intelekt. Przejawem aktywności intelektu jest ludzki rozum. Istnienie duszy powoduje, że człowiek odkrywa, iż został stworzony do poznawania niepoznawalnego, własnego intelektu i Boga. Ludzka dusza istnieje przed powstaniem ciała człowieka. Każdy człowiek od chwili poczęcia posiada duszę, a moment zejścia duszy w materię ciała wymyka się ludzkiemu poznaniu. Ten moment jest tajemnicą Stwórcy. --------------- Zgłoszono: 07/08/2020. This book provides a timely, compelling, multidisciplinary critique of the largely tacit set of assumptions funding Modernity in the West. A partnership between Michael Polanyi and Charles Taylor's thought promises to cast the errors of the past in a new light, to graciously show how these errors can be amended, and to provide a specific cartography of how we can responsibly and meaningfully explore new possibilities for ethics, political society, and religion in a post-modern modernity.

Two rotational bands have been identified and characterized in the proton-magic N = Z + 1 nucleus Ni-57. These bands complete the systematics of well-and superdeformed rotational bands in the light nickel isotopes starting from doubly magic Ni-56 to Ni-60. High-spin states in Ni-57 have been produced in the fusion-evaporation reaction Si-28(S-32, 2p1n)Ni-57 and studied with the gamma-ray detection array GAMMASPHERE operated in conjunction with detectors for evaporated light charged particles and neutrons. The features of the rotational bands in Ni-57 (...) are compared to those of neighbouring isotopes and interpreted by means of configuration-dependent cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky calculations. The two observed high-spin bands are considered signature partners and assigned to configurations with one 1g(9/2) proton and one 1g(9/2) neutron, resulting in an unambiguous understanding of the energetically favoured signature alpha = -1/2 band but a somewhat less satisfactory description of the signature alpha = +1/2 band. We construct a Hilbert style system RPL for the notion of plausibility measure introduced by Halpern J, and we prove the soundness and completeness with respect to a neighborhood style semantics. Using the language of RPL, we demonstrate that it can define well-studied notions of necessity, conditionals and propositional identity.

After several decades during which diagrams were neglected as a reliable source of mathematical knowledge, in recent years we have witnessed a revival of interest in the role of diagrams in mathematical cognition. In the paper, I consider how those investigations relate to the concept of spatial intuition and its role in mathematical cognition. It is argued that some characteristics of mathematical cognition that involve the use of diagrams are analogous with characteristics usually attributed to intuitive knowledge, above all the (...) immediacy of access to the analyzed object that in-tuition is said to deliver. First of all, this is due to the special characteristics of dia-grams, such as their structural similarity to the mathematical object represented and their ability to convey a lot of information. However, it is argued that the immediacy of mathematical cognition related to diagrams should not cancel the necessity to use concepts or reasoning, which are in fact indispensable in mathematical practice. Sev-eral other possible ways of using the concept of “intuition” are then indicated. One of them is connected with the common distinction between “intuition that” and “intuition of”. Visual “intuition that” is a mathematical belief that appears in us as a result of a visual contact with a diagram, and visual “intuition of” a mathematical object may appear when we have a tendency to visualize this object while thinking or reasoning with it (this may be the case with objects like a triangle, graph, lattice, as well as number line). Finally, it is stressed that many analyses of the use of diagrams and visualization in mathematics completely dispense with the use of the term “intuition”. (shrink)

It is not surprising, therefore, that in successive ages Heraclitus has been held up to glory or obloquy as the teacher of a Flowing Philosophy eventuating in irrationalism and mysticism; as the inspirer of Stoicism, conflagration and all; as the avatar of Satan behind the Monarchian heresy (...) of Noëtus; as he who first dimly discerned the Grundeinsicht of Hegelianism; as a Fascist, a Marxist, a Nietzschean, an Existentialist. Quantum entanglement has been focus of fundamental debate since the original paper of Einstein, Podolsky and Rosen [1] and the work of Bell [2], discussing its implications on fundamental issues related to the concepts of physical reality and locality. It has only been during the last few years when it has been recognized that this feature of Quantum Mechanics may also have important applications in the fields of communication and computation.
