In this document, we introduce a novel formalism for any field theory and apply it to the effective field theories of large-scale structure. The new formalism is based on functors of actions composing those theories. This new formalism predicts the actionic fields. We discuss our findings in a cosmological gravitology framework. We present these results with a cosmological inference approach and give guidelines on how we can choose the best candidate between those models with some latest understanding of model selection (...) using Bayesian inference. Es indudable que Edith Stein representa, en nuestros días, una figura tan atractiva como compleja, debido a su multifacético itinerario existencial caracterizado por la presencia de distintos registros tanto a nivel personal como a nivel profesional. En el presente artículo nos interesa destacar los principales legados de Edith Stein al mundo, a 130 años de su nacimiento. De manera general, nos proponemos dar cuenta de los legados que consideramos fundamentales por la potencia de sus propuestas, por la pertinencia para nuestro (...) mundo actual y por la recepción que de ellos se haga. Los legados seleccionados son: 1) el legado filosófico; 2) el legado pedagógico; 3) el legado femenino y 4) el legado personal y espiritual. Esperamos que durante la exposición de los legados puedan emerger los motivos de nuestra elección, así como las razones de inclusión y exclusión de temas en determinado legado, o la ausencia de alguna otra herencia importante que se haya dejado pasar. This article wants to discover the meaning and the limits of the Italian radical interpretations of Niccolò Machiavelli’s thought. In the latest years, some readings of Machiavelli have spread in certain Italian circle of authors throughout the paradigm of conflict. Marxist and post-Marxist history is the right context to understand these interpretations and catch the sense of the debate within Italian political philosophy. Du communisme au libéralisme : c’est de cette façon que le parcours intellectuel de Claude Lefort est généralement décrit. Malheureusement, les choses ne sont pas si simples. En effet, l’entier travail lefortien, des rangs du parti trotskiste à la réflexion sur le totalitarisme et la démocratie, comporte aussi une discussion continue avec l’œuvre de Marx. Un débat intensif avec le père du communisme, avec bien sûr des contrastes durs, guidé par l’influence de la phénoménologie de Maurice Merleau-Ponty. Celle-ci conduit Lefort (...) à rejeter toutes les possibilités de connaissance objective comme les idées de fondation et de totalité. Ainsi, à travers son débat avec Marx, Lefort parvient à abandonner le marxisme, à mettre en question les catégories principales de la modernité, vers une nouvelle conception de démocratie et des droits de l’homme. L’article propose de suivre le chemin lefortien du point de vue de sa confrontation avec Marx, par trois points clés. Le premier point est la dimension symbolique, rejetée par Marx qui pense la représentation comme produit de la structure productive. Le deuxième point est l’interprétation de modernité que Lefort décrit comme autonomie et désincorporation. Enfin, les droits de l’homme, point décisif du travail lefortien en polémique contre l’analyse marxienne dans les pages de La question juive. Nous espérons faire ressortir la relation compliquée avec Marx et l’originalité de la pensée lefortienne. (shrink)

What was the Keynesian revolution in economics? Why did it not succeed to the extent that Keynes and his close pupils had hoped for? Keynes and the Cambridge Keynesians addresses these and other questions by tracing the historical development of Keynesian economics. The book is split into three parts. Part I contains the author's Caffè Lectures on Keynes's 'unaccomplished revolution'. Part II is a series of biographical essays where the author, himself a witness and participant of the group on which (...) he writes, presents the successful and unsuccessful endeavours of Keynes's most important pupils: Richard Kahn, Joan Robinson, Nicholas Kaldor, Pierro Sraffa and Richard Goodwin. Part III of the book looks to the future by developing a conceptual analytical framework that makes sense of Keynes's 'revolution in economics', discussing the many ways in which the Keynesian way of doing economics is incompatible with the neoclassical tradition. The need for cognitive closure is a construct postulated by Kruglanski that explains the motivational aspects which influence decision-making and its impact on the social environment. Initially, it was assessed through a unidimensional scale, later criticized for its poor satisfactory reliability and validity. Regarding these criticisms, Pierro and Kruglanski developed a new 14-item scale to measure two dimensions, which were not previously evaluated: urgency tendency and permanence tendency. Although the Revised Test of Need for Cognitive Closure is more economical in (...) terms of assessment time, it would be optimal to develop a reduced test that can assess faster while maintaining validity and reliability. The present research aims to reduce the Revised Test of Need for Cognitive Closure scale to the Argentinian context. To this end, we worked on a non-experimental design, assessing this scale within a sample of 690 Argentinian university students, and proceeded to perform reliability, as well as confirmatory factor analysis, convergent validity, and factorial invariance analysis. The results indicate a bi-factorial structure of a Need for Cognitive Closure instrument with eight items and two dimensions: urgency tendency and permanence tendency, suggesting good reliability in both of them. In addition, well convergent validity was checked with other validated instruments, and finally, the factor loadings were shown to be invariant. In conclusion, it was demonstrated the reliability and validity of reducing the Revised Test of Need for Cognitive Closure in our social environment. (shrink)

El personalismo, en general, surge como una respuesta en contra del afán moderno de dar validez sólo aquello que es mesurable y empíricamente verificable, i.e., contra la tendencia positivista a olvidar la centralidad de la persona “como creadora y depositaria del sentido de la realidad”. Cara al positivismo imperante del siglo XIX y XX, encontramos la propuesta antropológica de Edith Stein, quien asume el método fenomenológico de su maestro para articular una sólida visión de lo humano, capaz de reivindicar su (...) dignidad constitutiva. El presente libro del profesor Rubén Sánchez, en este sentido, nos permite no sólo reparar en el recorrido intelectual que realizó la filósofa de Breslau para consolidar su antropología, sino también sumergirnos, en palabras de Gonzáles Di Pierro, en “todos los niveles de este personalismo steiniano”. Se trata, pues, de un texto que, sin menoscabo de la hondura y complejidad del pensamiento de Stein, nos permite ahondar en su propuesta antropológica desde un lenguaje sencillo y accesible para todo público.
