A few results generalizing well-known classical model theory ones have been obtained in institution theory these last two decades (e.g. Craig interpolation, ultraproduct, elementary diagrams). In this paper, we propose a generalized institution-independent version of the Beth definability theorem.

By posing the question of whether it is more relevant to investigate the psychopathology of the shaman or the effects of shamanism on its followers, Philippe Mitrani's article has the merit of going to the heart of a controversy that has divided analysts of shamanism.

A quelles conditions épistémologiques, théoriques, méthodologiques et sociales peut se faire un travail de recherche en intelligibilité qui aurait pour objet les actions dans leur singularité? Tel est l'objet (...) de cet ouvrage, produit à l'occasion d'un séminaire de recherche tenu en 1997 et 1998 et réunissant des chercheurs issus de différents horizons disciplinaires et disposant d'une expérience de réflexion et d'action dans ce domaine. Le Centre de Recherche sur la Formation est un laboratoire du CNAM spécialisé dans l'analyse des pratiques et des processus de formation et qui s'interroge plus généralement sur la manière dont peut fonctionner un champ de recherches quand il correspond à un champ de pratiques. Hume's Reception in Early America: Expanded Edition brings together the original American responses to one of Britain's greatest men of letters, David Hume. Now available as a single volume paperback, this new edition includes updated further readings suggestions and dozens of additional primary sources gathered together in a completely new concluding section. À partir d’une enquête réalisée dans un grand magasin parisien, cet article s’intéresse aux conflits liés à l’extension des horaires d’ouverture des magasins. Il poursuit deux objectifs. Le premier est d’analyser la manière dont la question du travail sur des horaires atypiques (dimanches, jours fériés, soirées) est posée et imposée dans le commerce de détail. Le second objectif de l’article est d’analyser, d’une part, le rapport que les employés de commerce entretiennent vis-à-vis de cette « nécessité » et, d’autre part, (...) les difficultés rencontrées par l’action syndicale face à ce sujet.
