Dreaming in Adolescents During the COVID-19 Health Crisis: Survey Among a Sample of European School Students.Ana Guerrero-Gomez, Isabel Nöthen-Garunja, Michael Schredl, Annelore Homberg, Maria Vulcan, Asja Brusić, Caterina Bonizzi & Cecilia Iannaco - 2021 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
According to the continuity hypothesis of dreaming and contemporary psychodynamic approaches, dreams reflect waking life. The aim of the present study was to explore the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and dreaming in adolescents. A cross-sectional survey was conducted in Italy, Romania and Croatia involving 2,105 secondary school students. No substantial differences between countries were found. Thirty-one percent of the participants reported heightened dream recall, 18% noticed an increase in nightmares during the lockdown, and 15% of the provided dreams included (...)

My Wrangell Mountains.Ruedi Homberger, Jon Van Zyle, Jona Van Zyle & Chris Larsen - 2011 - University of Alaska Press.
High atop cascading waterfalls and deep within the lush green depths of the valleys, Swiss photographer Ruedi Homberger has for more than twenty years captured in photographs the majestic beauty of eastern Alaska's Wrangell Mountain range. In addition to summiting some of the Wrangells' loftiest peaks, Homberger has in recent years incorporated a technically challenging new approach into his work. Flying above the mountains in a small plane, Homberger literally goes to new heights to reveal a series of stunning aerial (...)

Genetic sensitivity to the environment, across lifetime.Judith R. Homberg - 2012 - Behavioral and Brain Sciences 35 (5):368-368.
The target article by Charney convincingly argues that genomic plasticity perinatally induced by the environment creates a complication in determining which parts of behavior are attributed to nature and which to nurture. I argue that real life is even more complex because (1) genotype influences sensitivity to environmental stimuli, and (2) the genome continues to be modified throughout life.

Goffman’s Return to Las Vegas: Studying Corruption as Social Interaction.Dennis Schoeneborn & Fabian Homberg - 2018 - Journal of Business Ethics 151 (1):37-54.
In this paper, we argue that corruption research can benefit from studying corrupt transactions as a particular form of social interaction. We showcase the usefulness of a theoretical focus on social interaction by investigating online user reports on the website Frontdesktip.com. Through this focus, we can observe users sharing experiences and tips on the best ways of bribing hotel clerks in Las Vegas for attaining room upgrades and other complimentary extras. We employ a logistic regression analysis to examine what factors (...)

  17. The physician as a mecanico-chemist philosopher according to Etienne-François Geoffroy (1672-1731). [REVIEW]Bernard Joly - 2020 - Methodos 20.

    The Communal Context for Etienne-François Geoffroy's “Table des rapports”.Frederic L. Holmes - 1996 - Science in Context 9 (3):289-311.
The ArgumentEtienn-François Geoffroy' Table des Rapports is generally regarded as a landmark in the evolution of chemistry during the eighteenth century. Issues have arisen among historians concerning the significance and originality of the Table that require fuller attention to the immediate context of chemical research in the Academie des sciences during the two decades that preceded its appearance. The present paper argues that, despite the transition from communal to individual research projects that marked the reorganization of the Academy in 1699, (...)

Lectures on "Deleuze and biology".John Protevi - unknown
To be delivered at the 2nd "Deleuze Camp" in Cardiff, Wales, in August 2008. The intended audience is composed of students and scholars of Deleuze who are non-specialists in philosophy of biology. Thus these are introductory lectures with a good deal of simplification and exaggeration. I wish to thank Dominique Homberger, Vince LiCata, John Larkin, Chuck Dyke, and Alistair Welchman for critical and clarifying comments. They have helped immensely, and the remaining infelicities are solely my responsibility.
