The rural general, work, polytechnic school holds a prominent place in the life of the modern socialist village. “Laying bricks to build integrated career guidance plans”: Best practices in vocational education and training in Andalusia, Spain.Soledad Romero-Rodríguez, Celia Moreno-Morilla & Tania Mateos-Blanco - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
Vocational Education and Training policies are paying increasing attention towards the need to develop quality career guidance processes. Career guidance plays an essential role in this challenge by enabling people to develop the career management skills that allow them to become aware of their full potential and to construct life projects that facilitate the emotional management of uncertainty and complexity, participating as responsible agents in their environment. After conducting a literature review on each of these key elements, (...)

Vocation across the academy: a new vocabulary for higher education.David S. Cunningham (ed.) - 2017 - New York, NY: Oxford University Press.
Although the language of vocation was born in a religious context, the contributors in this volume demonstrate that it has now taken root within the broad framework of higher education and has become intertwined with a wide range of concerns. This volume makes a compelling case for vocational reflection and discernment in undergraduate education today, arguing that it will encourage faculty and students alike to venture out of their narrow disciplinary specializations and to reflect on larger questions of meaning (...)

Biomedical Research and Beyond: Expanding the Ethics of Inquiry.Christopher Tollefsen - 2007 - New York: Routledge.
What is the relationship between scientific research and ethics? Some think that science should be free from ethical and political considerations. _Biomedical Research and Beyond_ argues that ethical guidance is essential for all forms of inquiry, including biomedical and scientific research. By addressing some of the most controversial questions of biomedical research, such as embryonic research, animal research, and genetic enhancement research, the author argues for a rich moral framework for the ethics of inquiry, based on the ideal of (...)

Social influences on journalists' decision making in ethical situations.Paul S. Voakes - 1997 - Journal of Mass Media Ethics 12 (1):18 – 35.
This study attempts to refine and test a theory of social influences on ethical decisions of journalists. The theoretical model proposes that several social factors influence any given decision, and that a hierarchy of influences assigns relative value to each: individual, small group, organization, competition, occupation, extramedia, and law. Print and broadcast journalists reacted to 3 hypothetical scenarios that raised ethical problems. The journalists then rated the salience of various reasoning statements, each representing 1 of the 7 social influences. No (...)
