The manuscript is based on a series of structured interviews with female scientists from around the world who have made significant contributions to psychology and have an impact on their cultural areas. 4. Robert Schindels Beginn des Romans "Der Kalte" - Erstes Kapitel - Fortschreibung seines früheren Romans "Gebürtig"?Patrycja Anna Wojciechowska-Iżykowska - 2009 - Acta Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Germanica 5:351-359.
W niniejszym tekście autorka podjęła próbę analizy początku, jako jedynej opublikowanej do tej pory części, zapowiadanej przez Roberta Schindla powieści Der Kalte. Chodziło m. in. o odnalezienie odniesień do wcześniejszych utworów Roberta Schindla, w szczególności zaś do opublikowanej w roku 1992 i przeniesionej na ekran w roku 2001 powieści Gebürtig.

From lived urban experiences to cross-contextual theory: a selection dilemma.Marta Wojciechowska - forthcoming - Critical Review of International Social and Political Philosophy.
Political theorists are often interested in the problems that arise in more than one context; for example, problems that arise on a global level or among different cultural contexts. However, when political theorists engage with such problems, they face a methodological challenge. They need to decide how to evaluate differences both across and within the contexts in which the studied problem arises and determine how to create theories that are sensitive to the pluralism of real-life experiences. This article investigates the (...)

Social participation, identity style and identity dimensions in late adolescence among students of three types of vocational schools.Julita Wojciechowska, Anna Izabela Brzezińska & Radosław Kaczan - 2013 - Polish Psychological Bulletin 44 (3):310-321.
Departing from the model suggested by Luyckx, Schwarz, Berzonsky et al., the relationships between identity and educational context, social participation, and identity information processing style were investigated. Participants were 972 students from six vocational schools in Poznań. The students, within these six schools, attended Grades I-III of three types of vocational schools: basic vocational schools, technical upper secondary schools, and specialized upper secondary schools. Three questionnaires were used: The Dimensions of Identity Development Scale, which measures five identity dimensions according to (...)

Basic Hope And Generativity In Middle Adulthood The aim of the presented research was to investigate the relationship between the level of basic hope and the level and type of generativity in persons in middle adulthood. Hypotheses were posited and a positive correlation relationship was expected between basic hope and generativity, as well as a stronger relationship between those variables in the group of women than in the group of men, as well as a stronger relationship in the group of (...)

Ciała otwarte, ciała zamknięte. Płeć w dziewiętnastowiecznym dyskursie medycznym.Ewa Wojciechowska - 2020 - Civitas. Studia Z Filozofii Polityki 21:83-106.
The analysis of sexual differences in the representations of illnesses and patients in Polish medical literature in the 1840s shows that female and male patients were depicted in different ways. While female bodies were shown as open, vulnerable and malleable, male bodies were fortified, closed, and resistant. These two modes of representation entail two different concepts of illness: while women’s illnesses were caused by external factors, men’s maladies were believed to be the result of a distortion of inner balance. Interestingly, (...)

    Subjectivity and generativity in midlife.Ludwika Wojciechowska - 2017 - Polish Psychological Bulletin 48 (1):38-43.
An important aspect of human development in midlife is, according to E. Erikson’s theory, the successful resolution of the crisis between generativity and stagnation. Generativity is understood as focusing one’s energy on productivity and creativity - the creation of new works and ideas dedicated to future generations. It is assumed that generativity results from personal needs and constitutes a response to the social expectations directed at individuals. Concern for the next generation does not go hand-in-hand with concern for the personal (...)

“Throw[ing] the Longest Shadows”: The Significance of the Bogus Quotation for Arcadia by Jim Crace.Sylwia Wojciechowska - 2012 - Text Matters - a Journal of Literature, Theory and Culture 2 (2):180-191.
Preceding his Arcadia with a non-existing quotation, Jim Crace proves to be no Arcadian innocent: challenging the shrewdness of his readers, the contemporary novelist seems to take pleasure in inviting them to an intellectual game which begins before the novel unfolds. The highly evocative title and the bogus quotation are bound to evoke associations which become the subject of minute examination in the novel. Its result turns out to be as astounding as the uncommon aphoristic trap laid for the readers. (...)

Future and Present Hedonistic Time Perspectives and the Propensity to Take Investment Risks: The Interplay Between Induced and Chronic Time Perspectives.Katarzyna Sekścińska, Joanna Rudzinska-Wojciechowska & Dominika Agnieszka Maison - 2018 - Frontiers in Psychology 9:362092.
Willingness to take risk is one of the most important aspects of personal financial decisions, especially those regarding investments. Recent studies show that one’s perception of time, specifically the individual level of Present Hedonistic and Future Time Perspectives (TPs), influence risky financial choices. This was demonstrated for both, Time Perspective treated as an individual trait and for experimentally induced Time Perspectives. However, on occasion, people might find themselves under the joint influence of both, chronic and situational Time Perspectives and little (...)

Positive Psychology in Poland Between 2001 and 2020: A Review of Available Articles. [REVIEW]Marzanna Farnicka, Ludwika Wojciechowska & Łukasz Wojciechowski - 2021 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
The paper presents studies related to positive psychology that have been conducted in Poland. The article is based on a review of texts available in the databases of Google Scholar and EBSCO published by Polish researchers in the years 2001–2021. The selection criterion was the presence of some concepts in the title and/or abstract of articles that are constructs of positive psychology. Thirty intentionally selected articles were analyzed in terms of research objectives, variables, and measurement tools they described. In this (...)
