In Heuretics--a word defined as "the branch of logic that treats the art of discovery or invention"--Gregory Ulmer sets forth new methods appropriate for conducting cultural studies research in an age of electronic hypermedia. "A book like Ulmer's, that aims to put theory to use to create a generative apparatus for the writer's invention, is a breath of fresh air for me. I don't know of anybody who has tried to make of post-structuralist theory a heuristic in anything like the comprehensive way that Professor Ulmer does in Heuretics."--Eugene K.
