Vorwort Fragen, die mich seit fruher Jugend bewegt und beunruhigt haben, werden auf den folgenden Blattern zu zusammenhangender Behandlung gebracht. Doch habe ich bis vor nicht allzu langer Zeit teilweise in wesentlich anderer Richtung die Losung der Schwierigkeiten gesucht, die in den hier zur Erorterung herangezogenen Problemen liegen. So ist es denn in der Hauptsache das Ergebnis eines in hohen Jahren gepflogenen Nachdenkens, (...) was ich hier dem Leser darbiete. Th e lecture elucidates and compares Johannes Volkelt’s and Heinrich Rickert’s positions on the problem of metaphysics. It comes to a reference of views representative of the metaphysical approach of early neo-Kantian Johannes Volkelt to representative of Baden School of late New-Kantian, Heinrich Rickert. In the lecture I would like to make the reconstruction and the analysis of philosophies of Volkelt and Rickert in the context of the problem of metaphysics. Th e object is the (...) content, premises and consequences of their philosophy in comparison to New-Kantian and other philosophy. Th e basis for the reconstruction is their expressions in their various writings. Th e purpose is the analysis of the transformation of western metaphysics and their infl uence on the contemporary thinking about the world. (shrink)

The aim of the paper is a historical analysis and evaluate of the metaphysic of Neo-Kantian philosopher Johannes Volkelt and of Postneo-Kantian Martin Heidegger. Heidegger's approach to Kant's critique of pure reason (transcendental philosophy) as the foundation of metaphysics is not new and it had a major precursor in the metaphysical Neo-Kantianism. In the Neo-Kantianism was taken inside the question of the possibility of metaphysics, not only as metaphysica specialis, but also as the ontology (metaphysica generalis).

The paper is devoted to an issue of Polish reception of Kant’s thought and an history of Polish research on this philosophy. It concerns the impact of Neo- Kantianism to assimilate the ideas of Kant in Poland. Its subjectis the comparison of the philosophical ideas of the twothinkers in different ways related to Polish: Johannes Volkelt from Lipnik and professor of philosophy at the Jan Kazimierz University of Lviv Mścisław Wartenberg. Philosophically connect their research on the thought of (...) Kant and the defense of the scientific nature of metaphysics. The purpose of this comparison is to identify the border between the literal reading of Kant’s philosophy and the spirit expressed in a new way by the Neo-Kantians. (shrink)
