Este artículo propone un acercamiento a la psicopatología desde la filosofía social concentrándose en tres momentos. En el primero, proponemos distinguir las condiciones de posibilidad sociales e históricas que producen la emergencia de un discurso psicopatológico de sus condiciones de validez. Las condiciones de validez nos sitúan en el interior del discurso psicopatológico, en el ámbito de la proposición, cuya verdad o falsedad no se decide arbitrariamente sino a partir de las reglas constitutivas del discurso. Las condiciones de posibilidad se (...) sitúan en otro nivel: el de advertir que la oposición entre lo verdadero y lo falso se organiza entorno al discurso de la psicopatología como un tipo particular de discurso que se constituye en un momento concreto y cuya emergencia supone asimismo la intervención de múltiples factores y agentes, no todos ellos científicos. En un segundo momento, nos proponemos defender la importancia de la forma de vida socialmente compartida para entender la psicopatología y, finalmente, ahondar en la relación entre la forma de vida socialmente compartida y los modos de experimentar la psicosis. En el parágrafo segundo del Ensayo Locke reclama la necesidad de estudiar el entendimiento a través de un método histórico. Lo que quiere decir es que se va a limitar a describir lo dado tal como es dado. El problema es el de saber qué sea lo dado. A nuestro modo de ver, tanto Locke, como Descartes, como Husserl, lo han entendido bajo supuestos ontológicos que debieran haber sido criticados previamente desde el método histórico. Esta crítica es realizada con todo (...) vigor por Hume en el Tratado. El resultado es una nueva ontología que genera, a su vez, una manera distinta de entender las matemáticas y las ciencias experimentales. Esto es lo que analizamos en el presente trabajo. (shrink)

Este estudio está basado en los Hechos de Pedro, un escrito apócrifo del Nuevo Testamento. El libro, que es en realidad una obra piadosa, popular y ejemplarizante, narra numerosos episodios de magia. Resulta de especial interés el pulso que mantienen Simón Pedro y Simón Mago, realizando prodigios y milagros sin fin en Roma. El trasfondo ideológico del escrito es un alegato contra la figura de los malos emperadores romanos, cuyo modelo es Nerón, personaje ridiculizado y tachado de asesino y perseguidor (...) de los cristianos. En el presente trabajo analizamos las razones por las que Husserl no ha sido fiel al programa filosófico esbozado en la tercera investigación lógica. Asimismo, proponemos la continuación y el desarrollo de dicho programa, al que damos el nombre de objetivismo absoluto, y lo defendemos como una alternativa empirista a cualquier forma de filosofía transcendental.

I think that the ideas of “an objective conception of reality” and of “a scientific method” are neither clear nor useful. In this paper I want to say why I think that, and to recommend a Deweyan approach to science, one which emphasizes the utility rather than the objectivity of laws and theories.

We show how two iterated products of selection functions can both be used in conjunction with systemTto interpret, via the dialectica interpretation and modified realizability, full classical analysis. We also show that one iterated product is equivalent over systemTto Spector’s bar recursion, whereas the other isT-equivalent to modified bar recursion. Modified bar recursion itself is shown to arise directly from the iteration of a different binary product of ‘skewed’ selection functions. We say that a Hausdorff locale is compactly generated if it is the colimit of the diagram of its compact sublocales connected by inclusions. We show that this is the case if and only if the natural map of its frame of opens into the second Lawson dual is an isomorphism. More generally, for any Hausdorff locale, the second dual of the frame of opens gives the frame of opens of the colimit. In order to arrive at this conclusion, we (...) generalize the Hofmann–Mislove–Johnstone theorem and some results regarding the patch construction for stably locally compact locales. (shrink)

In this note we exhibit a continuity principle for real-valued functions on C[–1, 1] that is not validated by realizability over domains although it is validated by Kleene's functional realizability corresponding to Weihrauch's theory of type 2 effectivity.

The first states that Cantor space embeds in any inhabited complete separable metric space without isolated points, X, in such a way that every sequentially continuous function from Cantor space to ℤ extends to a sequentially continuous function from X to ℝ. The second asserts an analogous property for Baire space relative to any inhabited locally non-compact CSM. Both results rely on having careful (...) constructive formulations of the concepts involved.As a first application, we derive new relationships between “continuity principles” asserting that all functions between specified metric spaces are pointwise continuous. In particular, we give conditions that imply the failure of the continuity principle “all functions from X to ℝ are continuous”, when X is an inhabited CSM without isolated points, and when X is an inhabited locally non-compact CSM. One situation in which the latter case applies is in models based on “domain realizability”, in which the failure of the continuity principle for any inhabited locally non-compact CSM, X, generalizes a result previously obtained by Escardó and Streicher in the special case X = C[0, 1].As a second application, we show that, when the notion of inhabited complete separable metric space without isolated points is interpreted in a recursion-theoretic setting, then, for any such space X, there exists a Banach-Mazur computable function from X to the computable real numbers that is not Markov computable.
