This response to Thaddeus Metz's “Toward an African Moral Theory” engages with his discussion of an autocentric, or “self-development” account of ubuntu as a morally normative theory. It is argued that an autocentric ubuntu, sharing certain strategies available to eudaimonist ethics, is both more plausible and more attractive than Metz suggests, particularly in that it engages directly with the immoralist. A predicate of personal taste occurring in a sentence in which the perspectival information is not linguistically articulated by an experiencer phrase may have two different readings. In case the speaker of a bare sentence formed with a predicate of personal taste uses the subjective predicate encoding perspectival information in one way and the hearer interprets it in another way, the agents’ acts are not coordinated. In this paper I offer an answer to the question of how a hearer can (...) strategically interact with a speaker on the intended perspectival information so that both agents can optimally solve their coordination problem. In this sense, I offer a game-theoretical account of the strategic communication with expressions referring to agents’ perspectives, communication which involves the interaction between a speaker who intends to convey some perspectival information and who chooses to utter a bare sentence formed with a predicate of personal taste, instead of a sentence in which the perspectival information is linguistically articulated by an experiencer phrase, and a hearer who has to choose between interpreting the uttered sentence in conformity with the speaker’s autocentric use of the predicate of personal taste or in conformity with the speaker’s exocentric use. В статті дається аналіз етнічної толерантності під час розвитку інформаційного суспільства, за атрибутивною характеристикою життєдіяльності суспільства, що проникає в освітосферу і є однією з головних задач націотворення, - в сучасних умовах головною метою української держави, повинно стати – суб’єктом виконання моделі освітоцентризму,- як чинник гуманітаризації кризового суспільства, котре встановлює сутність опредметнених ідеалів української ідеї. Метою статті є відображення феномену етнічної толерантності, - істотної риси процесів сучасного націотворення: виникнення контурів глобального інформаційного суспільства, як складного соціального і суперечливого феномену в сучасних умовах (...) державотворення, в основі якого є становлення гуманітарної концептуалізації. Термін «комунікативно-інформаційне суспільство» включає в себе глобальну уніфіковану інформаційну індустрію, для розвитку якої необхідний розвиток освітосфери. В Україні створюється єдиний соціокультурний простір – глобальна мережа Інтернет, зростає все більша роль засобів теле-і радіокомунікацій, що сприяє розвитку мережевого та онлайнового суспільства. Результати статті Як слідує з аналізу наведеного не випадково освітосфера розглядається, - як новий соціальний концепт соціокультурної комунікації в умовах глобального інформаційного суспільства. Етнічна толерантність у сучасних умовах впливає на трансформацію соціуму, у якому відбулася реактуалізація явища «переходу» малоросійського етносу в українську політичну націю; котрий як історичний етнос існував ще у Середні віки у формі держави Київської Русі, який сьогодні починає активно розвиватись у процесі розвитку європейського спрямування Української Держави. The essay “On the Two Conceptions of the Meaning of Philosophy”, published in 1936, links up with other early writings such as “Remarks on the Wordly and Other-Wordly Stance of Philosophy” (1934) reflecting Patočka’s initial approach to the question of philosophers’ moral commitment. He distinguishes here an “autocentric” (Aristotle, Descartes, Hegel) and a “hetero-” or “sociocentric” (Plato, Enlightenment philosophers, Comte, Nietzsche) conception of the meaning of philosophy, characterizes its possible influence on human life as either “apperceptive” or “magical” and concludes (...) on a vision of “autonomous life” as “the divinity struggling with its intrinsic peril” which heralds later writings on freedom and sacrifice. This paper addresses Rousseau's contribution to educational practice by illustrating the ways in which his notion of amour-propre distorts the teacher-student relationship in Muriel Spark's novel, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. Though some of Rousseau's pedagogical methods may appear impractical and problematic, his insights into the psychological distortions of amour-propre bear directly on teaching because it is such an important instance of the relationship between self and others. The protagonist, Jean Brodie, is shown to be not only an inadequate (...) teacher but a morally destructive one as well because she violates the teacher-student relationship by both encouraging amourpropre among her students and using those same students primarily to satisfy her own need for power and self-aggrandizement. Her eventual ruin at the hands of her “best” student results from the amour-propre both share. Miss Brodie's failure illustrates the dangers of looking at teaching as self-expression, personal fulfillment etc., to the extent of forgetting what it actually is — the careful addressing of students' experience both as individuals and as learners.
