The aim of this article is to revisit public happiness as Arendt develops it explicitly in On Revolution—and implicitly elsewhere throughout her oeuvre—in order to philosophically evaluate its ability to beget a political-theoretical framework able to relate politics to an “affective realignment,” alternative to the hegemonic paradigms of “againstness” and “resistance.” I will analyze the Arendtian theoretical framework regarding action, freedom, and happiness in its relation to the thinker’s political ontology, testing its ability to restore for us a political imaginary (...) that is generative and affirmative. Can Arendt can help us understand the political momentum of the present and by so doing help us reassess the political, freeing it from the depoliticized quagmire of these overtly neoliberal times? Ilrischio che Lonzi intraprende con le altre è sia quello di pensarsi a partire da un ‘vuoto’, sia dinominare tale gesto ‘politica’. Infine, si potrebbe aggiungere, il rischio più grande che Lonziintraprende – e che la rende un’autrice scomoda sia per un pensiero della differenza che ha quasi deltutto abbandonato l’esplorazione del piacere femminile, sia per il pensiero transfemminista e queerche rifiuta la binarietà dei corpi sessuati e quindi, sospettiamo, la specificità fisiologica di unpiacere clitorideo – è quello di dire, (...) in un’epoca in cui il sospetto per la biologia e l’anatomia ètratto comune della riflessione teorico-politica – che i corpi hanno fattezze differenti e piaceridifferenti, a seconda del loro sesso anatomico. Legare il discorso sul corpo al piacere, e allacristallina differenza tra un piacere maschile e uno femminile – a loro volta differentementecollegati al processo di generazione – permette a Lonzi di politicizzare il corpo femminile senzaneutralizzarlo, senza trasformarlo solo in un dispositivo discorsivo. Il pensiero di Lonzi, quindi, seletto con onestà e lucidità, per certi versi può fungere da argine alla riduzione delle tematiche legateal sesso e alla sessualità a semplici questioni discorsive, o di preferenza. Can philosophy elaborate a discourse on hope? This question leads the monographic issue of the Rivista Italiana di Filosofia Politica that we introduce in this article. Its intent is to explore the relationship between philosophy and political reality not (only) in the light of a critique of the present, but (also) of a generative variant of the inaugural gesture of thinking.
