Abstract

Nursing education is a field of health education that must be presented by blending practice and theory. Clinical practices provide both the development of basic skills and the acquisition of professional identity. Clinical applications, which have an important place in the education process, are carried out in a clinical environment with stressful and unpredictable variables. In the clinical setting, nursing students may encounter many different ethical problems as a result of the unprofessional attitudes and behaviors of both health personnel and patients. The ethical problems faced affect the clinical learning negatively. In this review, the ethical problems faced by nursing students in the clinical setting, ethical awareness and coping methods against these problems are discussed. When the findings of the study conducted in the country and abroad between 2000-2018 are examined; It has been determined that students are faced with many different ethical problems such as being dishonest with the patient, being treated against the status and violating the patient's rights. In the face of these problems, it was determined that students' ethical awareness was low or medium level, they did not actively participate in process management, and nurses were not role models. As a result of the work done; It is recommended to review the ethical education curriculum in nursing, to be a role model for nurses and to include ethical education after graduation.
