Abstract
SummaryThe elementary building block of all living organisms is the cell. It has a rich inner structure with a multitude of organelles for various metabolic functions. The analysis of these functions is made possible by the method of cell fractionation. Cells are homogenized and separated, mainly by centrifugation techniques, into a number of fractions. With the aid of markers, i.e. of characteristic biochemical or morphological properties of individual organelles, the fractions are identified and then analyzed for their metabolic functions.A principal difficulty of this analysis consists in the fact that an alteration of the functions of isolated organelles is the more probable, the more extensively they are purified.RésuméĽélément fondamental de tout être vivant est la cellule.
