Attitudes About Corporate Social Responsibility: Business Student Predictors.Robert W. Kolodinsky, Timothy M. Madden, Daniel S. Zisk & Eric T. Henkel - 2010 - Journal of Business Ethics 91 (2):167-181.
Four predictors were posited to affect business student attitudes about the social responsibilities of business, also known as corporate social responsibility (CSR). Applying Forsyth's (1980, "Journal of Personality and Social Psychology" 39, 175–184, 1992, "Journal of Business Ethics" 11, 461–470) personal moral philosophy model, we found that ethical idealism had a positive relationship with CSR attitudes, and ethical relativism a negative relationship. We also found materialism to be negatively related to CSR attitudes. Spirituality among business students did not significantly predict (...)

This book moves toward building a new and more comprehensive theory of literature, philosophy, psychology, and art. The Venetian Version of the Fourth Crusade: Memory and the Conquest of Constantinople in Medieval Venice.Thomas F. Madden - 2012 - Speculum 87 (2):311-344.
On a busy day in October 1202, Walframo of Gemona, a resident of Venice living in the parish of San Stae, made his will. Although still a young man, he was anxious to put his affairs in order because, as he put it, “preparing to go in the service of the Lord and his Holy Sepulcher, I am mindful of the day of my death.” Walframo was apparently a man of some wealth. In his will he left his wife, Palmera, (...)

This book is an important contribution to the Values literature on the meanings of work. These essays explore the philosophical, ethical, religious, and social foundations that underscore so much of the current thinking and concern about work satisfaction and the place of work in the search of meaning. Various points of view are presented and these include among others historical perspectives, empirical studies and cross-cultural explorations. The result is a compelling and critical volume which challenges many basic cultural and empirical (...)
