Circular convolution-based feature extraction algorithm for classification of high-dimensional datasets.Akkalakshmi Muddana & Rupali Tajanpure - 2021 - Journal of Intelligent Systems 30 (1):1026-1039.
High-dimensional data analysis has become the most challenging task nowadays. Dimensionality reduction plays an important role here. It focuses on data features, which have proved their impact on accuracy, execution time, and space requirement. In this study, a dimensionality reduction method is proposed based on the convolution of input features. The experiments are carried out on minimal preprocessed nine benchmark datasets. Results show that the proposed method gives an average 38% feature reduction in the original dimensions. The algorithm accuracy is (...)

Consciousness and investment efficacy: the mediating role of mindfulness.Rupali Misra, Sumita Srivastava & D. K. Banwet - 2023 - Mind and Society 22 (1):87-101.
The present paper investigates investor decision-making from a psychological standpoint and explores the role of consciousness and mindfulness on investors’ analytical ability and investment efficacy. A comprehensive survey instrument including sub-scales of different behavioural constructs is administered to 222 individual investors. We find evidence supporting the positive influence of cognitive capability on investment efficacy. The findings also suggest that mindfulness reliably mediates consciousness to cause an effect on cognitive capability. Higher cognitive capability will manifest in the form of detailed analysis (...)

Health Care Surrogacy Laws Do Not Adequately Address the Needs of Minors.Rupali Gandhi, Erin Talati Paquette, Lainie Friedman Ross & Erin Flanagan - 2020 - Hastings Center Report 50 (2):16-18.
A couple and their five‐year‐old daughter are in a car accident. The parents are not expected to survive. The child is transported to a children's hospital, and urgent treatment decisions must be made. Whom should the attending physician approach to make decisions for the child? When such cases arise in, for example, the hospitals where we work, the social worker or chaplain is instructed to use the Illinois Health Care Surrogacy Act as a guidepost to identify a decision‐maker. But in (...)

Promoting Ethical Behaviours by Instant Mindfulness Meditation in Ethics Education.Puneeta Goel, Rupali Misra, Komal Kapoor & Simmi Khurana - 2022 - Journal of Business Ethics Education 19:77-92.
There is a growing need to identify what really can converge classroom learning to the real-life practising of ethical principles. We examine if the effectiveness of ethics education can be improved through meditation-based mindfulness intervention. Our baseline experiment is a procedurally modified version of the anagram exercise (Ruedy and Schweitzer 2010) for measuring unethical behaviour. We introduce a brief meditation intervention to induce instant mindfulness. Our findings indicate substantive evidence confirming the positive effect of the state of mindfulness on ethical (...)
