The Making of a Canon: Impact of the Old Testament Scriptures in the Christian Canon Development.Kwaku Boamah - 2018 - International Letters of Social and Humanistic Sciences 80:7-21.
Publication date: 31 January 2018 Source: Author: Kwaku Boamah The formation of the Christian canon was not a one day venture. Some scholars maintain it spanned from the first up to about the fourth centuries. This paper has three main parts: the first draws a linear process of canon generation, beginning from text to scripture and possibly becoming canonical. The second focuses on the creation of the Christian canon by exploring the stages and the implications of naming the (...)

The digital life of the #migrantcaravan: Contextualizing Twitter as a spatial technology.Emmanuel Frimpong Boamah & Margath A. Walker - 2020 - Big Data and Society 7 (2).
The Central American migrant caravans of 2018 are best understood as having been precipitated by entangled multi-scalar geopolitical histories among the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. Unsurprisingly, the migrants traveling north to the United States garnered widespread attention on social media. So much so that the reaction to the caravan accelerated plans to deploy troops to the US southern border and deny Central Americans the opportunity to seek asylum. This example showcases how the digital world can have (...)

In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:Where is Africa? When is the West's Other?Literary Postcoloniality in a Comparative AnthropologyKwaku Larbi Korang (bio)This essay brings into a critical dialogue two contemporary cultural-intellectual projects, one Western, the other African. The two are commonly and broadly informed by questions of ethics, epistemology, and the politics of representation as they bear on how, in the here and now, we are to conceive anew the relations between Self and Other, (...)

Corporate Boards and Ownership Structure as Antecedents of Corporate Governance Disclosure in Saudi Arabian Publicly Listed Corporations.Yvonne Downs, Kwaku K. Opong, Collins G. Ntim & Waleed M. Al-Bassam - 2018 - Business and Society 57 (2):335-377.
This study investigates whether and to what extent publicly listed corporations voluntarily comply with and disclose recommended good corporate governance practices, and distinctively examines whether the observed cross-sectional differences in such CG disclosures can be explained by ownership and board mechanisms with specific focus on Saudi Arabia. The study’s results suggest that corporations with larger boards, a Big 4 auditor, higher government ownership, a CG committee, and higher institutional ownership disclose considerably more than those that are not. By contrast, the (...)

Flights-to-and-from-Quality with Islamic and Conventional Bonds in the COVID-19 Pandemic Era: ICEEMDAN-Based Transfer Entropy.Ahmed Bossman, Samuel Kwaku Agyei, Peterson Owusu Junior, Ellen Animah Agyei, Patrick Kwashie Akorsu, Edward Marfo-Yiadom & George Amfo-Antiri - 2022 - Complexity 2022:1-25.
We revisit the flight-to-quality and flight-from-quality occurrences vis-à-vis the stock-bond nexus across differing investment time scales in the COVID-19 era, using a novel technique hinged on a denoised frequency-domain transfer entropy. Our findings divulge that flights, both FTQ and FFQ, could be attained during stress periods. Generally, in the intermediate term of the COVID-19 pandemic, both Islamic and conventional bonds could act as safe havens, diversifiers, and hedges for international equities, and the same could be observed for international equities. We (...)

In Search of a Sustainable Society in Africa: Christianity, Justice, and Sustainable Peace in a Changing Climate.Ben-Willie Kwaku Golo - 2018 - Philosophia Reformata 83 (1):68-89.
The violence which humankind has visited not only on the natural world but also on human populations has resulted in negative environmental change which in turn induces diverse forms of violence in Africa. This has been threatening a sustainable society and human flourishing in Africa. Invited as Christ’s witnesses, Christians need to offer qualitative resources to forestall the violence that threatens human flourishing. What opportunities do these challenges offer Christian theologians and ethicists to provide life-transforming alternatives that enhance a sustainable (...)
