Hamburgers and the rainforest – a review of issues and evidence.Sam Bonti-Ankomah & Glenn Fox - 1997 - Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Ethics 10 (2):153-182.
This paper examines the relationship between North American beef consumption and deforestation in South and Central America. Some writers have argued that consumption of hamburgers in North America, particularly hamburgers consumed in fast food restaurants, contributes to the depletion of the rainforest in South and Central America. We survey the published policy literature on the causes of rainforest depletion in the region. We also review the published estimates of the rate and extent of clearing of rainforest that has occurred in (...)

Democratic Governance and International Law.Gregory H. Fox & Brad R. Roth (eds.) - 2000 - Cambridge University Press.
Prior to the end of the Cold War, the word 'democracy' was rarely used by international lawyers. Few international organisations supported democratic governance, and the criteria for recognition of governments took little account of whether regimes enjoyed a popular mandate. Omitted Costs, Inflated Benefits: Renewable Energy Policy in Ontario.Glenn Fox & Parker Gallant - 2011 - Bulletin of Science, Technology and Society 31 (5):369-376.
The government of Ontario has adopted wind energy development as an alternative energy source. It enacted the Green Energy and Economy Act, May 2009, with the intention to fast track the approval process regarding industrial wind turbines. The Act legislated a centralized decision making process while removing local jurisdictional authority. Throughout this process, the government reassured the public of inexpensive and reliable electricity. This article explores the costs and benefits related to the renewable energy policy established in Ontario, Canada.
