Abstract

This year, a new subject, Ethics, will be introduced for fifth- and sixth-graders. It is a cultural course of a secular nature, it lacks religious education. Children of ten to twelve years will be introduced to moral norms and universal values, will try to help determine their own life position. The authors of the program and textbooks expect that school ethics lessons written once a week will teach children to be friendly, polite, attentive and responsive to other people, make our children more tolerant and compassionate, and teach morality and immorality.
