Abstract

Although there has been a renaissance of interest in Kant among Anglo-Saxon philosophers, it is mainly the Kant of the first Critique that has interested philosophers. There has been little serious discussion of Kant's political philosophy. This book brings together Kant's political writings and enables the reader to see clearly that Kant's political philosophy is not just an application of his moral philosophy. Reading these writings together shows how much the issues that concerned Kant are still with us today. Hopefully the publication of this volume will be an incentive not only for developing a fuller and more robust interpretation of Kant but also a better understanding of the tradition of political philosophy.--R. J. B.
