Abstract

This work deals not only with imagination interpreted as the capacity to form a mental image, but offers a much broader view which takes imagination to be a faculty involved in perception, conceptualization, emotion, and aesthetic experiences. In order to explicate this view, Warnock begins with a look at some representative philosophical and literary figures, and then attempts to use that survey as a basis for her own analysis.
