Abstract
Althought there seems to he a contradiction between Michel Henrys philosophy considered as an ontologie of sheer immanence and Emmanuel Lévinas's viewed as a metaphysics of absolute trancendence or radical otherness, we are attempting to bring out the similarity of philosophical thought processes at hand in both outlooks. We intend to show that, in taking up the same set of themes, they represent a similar effort to get away from the western monism of ontological manifestation thought of as both representation and intention, and to achieve a synthesis between metaphysics and phenomenology (trans.
