Abstract

Like most masters of the sacred page, Robert Grosseteste considered the subject-matter of the Psalms to be Christus integer, that is the relationship between Christ and his mystical body, the Church. While many scholars have considered medieval ecclesiology to be mainly papal and juridic, this exposition of Ps. 86 and the whole Super Psalterium reveal a conception of the Church that is Christological in orientation and pastoral in nature
