Abstract

Resumo: Charles S. Peirce é autor de uma notação lógica de caráter geométrico-topológico, os grafos existenciais, que subdivide-se em três sistemas - Alfa, Beta e Gama - correspondentes, respectivamente, do cálculo sentencial clássico, do cálculo funcional clássico de primeira ordem, e de um tipo de lógica modal. O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar, introdutoriamente, o sistema Alfa dos GE, e compara-lo com a notação tradicional.: Charles S. Peirce developed a geometrical-topological logic notation, "Existential Graphs", divided into three systems: Alfa, Beta e Gamma. These correspond, respectively, to prepositional calculus, first order predicate calculus and a kind of modal logic. The aim of this paper is to present an introduction to the Alfa system and to compare it with the traditional notation.
