These generalise structure and model in a way that is relevant in regards to the Entscheidungsproblem and to automated reasoning.A downward Löwenheim-Skolem property is shown in that each satisfiable finite conjunction of purely relational first-order prenex sentences has a finite generalised model.     The problem is addressed of establishing the satisfiability of prenex formulas involving a single universal quantifier, in diversified axiomatic set theories. A rather general decision method for solving this problem is illustrated through the treatment of membership theories of increasing strength, ending with a subtheory of Zermelo-Fraenkel which is already complete with respect to the ∀*∀ class of sentences.     An AE-sentence is a sentence in prenex normal form with all universal quantifiers preceding all existential quantifiers, and the AE-theory of a structure is the set of all AE-sentences true in the structure.
