Dans cette contribution, nous chercherons à montrer comment dans l’articulation de la communauté chez Hegel et Rosenzweig, se montre une radicale différence en ce qui concerne la conception de l’horizon politique et donc – plus en généralement – la relation avec l’altérité. Contre la dure affirmation hégélienne « Abraham ne voulait pas aimer et donc être libre » et contre le vide ou la négativité que représente le judaïsme aux yeux de Hegel, Rosenzweig propose une autre compréhension du Politique, en (...) définissant l’existence du peuple d’Israël – dans la ‘parfaite’ éternité de sa persistance de peuple « déjà parvenu à destination » – comme existence métahistorique. In his masterpiece The Star of Redemption, Franz Rosenzweig shows as the notion of totality is a constant and central reference in the history of philosophy from Ionia to Jena. This paper aims to explain a different meaning of the concept of totality, reconsidering some aspects of the question starting from the philosophical reflection of Franz Rosenzweig and his opposition to the Hegelian thought. In particular, according to Rosenzweig, the concept of totality is the essential background in which one could (...) rethink the concept of community.
