The theological task in North America is not the correlation of faith and world or the appropriation of creedal concepts, but the effort to show how the gospel story itself functions as the model of theology. Opening this dimension for the imagination of faith is our primary challenge.

The way of shaping present “riffraff” into community in our wilderness is not identical to that of Moses at Sinai, but the need to establish law and to offer it as gospel is very much the same.
