This essay surveys and synthesizes the academic literature, archival sources and interviews with key policy makers regarding the emergence of community technology centers in the US. Community Technology Centers came to the fore in the late 1990s through an activist nonprofit sector combined with federal government and private sector funding. Deliberate commission of category mistake. Crombie vs. Ryle.Philip Bashor & Arifa Farid - 1987 - International Journal for Philosophy of Religion 21 (1):39 - 46.
Crombie's acceptance of the deliberate commission of a category mistake in his defense of the meaningfulness of theological statements raises a pointed challenge to the philosophy of Ryle which seems not to have been specifically addressed in subsequent literature. We review the analysis which leads Crombie into it, including concepts of anomaly, deficiency, affinity, and inadequate notion, noting basic differences in method and attitude from Ryle. We express our own agreements and disagreements in keeping with an overall concern for the (...)

    “Kitab al-mawaqif” an-niffary as a specific guide in the sufi terminology. Notion “ma‘arifa” in the texts of al-qushayri, al-hudjwiri and an-niffary.R. V. Pskhu - 2019 - RUDN Journal of Philosophy 23 (3):265-272.
The paper deals with the non-usual interpretation of the main works of an-Niffary as an original and specific guide in the Sufi terminology. The specific character of the text obliges a reader to treat the text more attentively that to the ordinary texts created by the human being. The most famous Sufi treatises on Sufism and its terminology are Qushayri and Hudjwiri's works, which contain definitions of most important Sufi terms and notions. The epistemology of the truth in modern Islam.Khaled Abou El Fadl - 2015 - Philosophy and Social Criticism 41 (4-5):473-486.
There is a serious problem with arguing that God intended to lock the epistemology of the 7th century into the immutable text of the Qur’an, and then intended to hold Muslims hostage to this epistemological framework for all ages to come. Among other things, this would limit the dynamism and effectiveness of Divine text because the Qur’an would be for ever locked within a knowledge paradigm that is very difficult to retrieve or re-create. The author argues for the recognition of (...)
