Abstract

In this paper, prejudice is investigated by means of some sub-concepts in terms of the example of theft. By asking the question of whether the contemporary usage of the concept of theft is appropriate both in terms of law and also of ethics, this investigation aims to show that the concept of theft is used as a kind of prejudice in contemporary literature and that this prejudice has its sources in society, politics and culture. Can theft be a kind of understanding transformed into everybody’s common “belief” as being “absolutely wrong, evil and sinful”? The aim of this paper is more to determine basic sources of prejudice by trying to answer the questions asked above than to put forward the sources of this concept in history
