Abstract

This chapter presents a critical analysis of the UK Women and Sport Report 2014–2015 published on 25 July 2014 by the authority of the UK House of Commons Culture, Media and Sport select committee. Given the importance of the inquiry and published report in considering government spending and making future recommendations, a critical discussion of the evidence supporting the report, the content of the report and recommendations are provided in this chapter. The chapter begins with a brief overview of the content of the report including the recommendations made and an overview of the government response that was published after the report. The key strengths and limitations of the report are discussed and these are positioned in relation to contemporary issues of evidence and policy development, policy enactment and impact.
