Abstract
The purposes of this work were to qualitatively study the experience of intuition, identify the signals of intuition, propose new concepts and definitions of intuition, and identify cues of "correct" intuitive interpretation. Twelve professionals with exceptional intuitive abilities described their experiences of intuition. The Heuristic Research approach was used, in which the researcher included himself as a participant and incorporated an in-depth study of his experiences of intuition. The researcher used the process of dream incubation during all stages of this investigation in order to receive intuitive guidance. The participants described a wide variety of experiences and definitions of intuition, which ranged from common forms to profound experiences and altered states of consciousness . Intuition manifested as a unique combination of signals and forms for each participant, often enabling recognition and accurate interpretation as a result of many years of practice and feedback from clients. Often intuition was accessed deliberately by inducing an altered state of consciousness , by asking a question and waiting for the answer to appear. This study provides firsthand descriptions of the inner realms of people with extraordinary intuitive abilities. The results suggest that intuition is recognized and interpreted accurately by directly experiencing the unique essence of the object of intuition in the inner realms and by becoming familiar with one's unique intuitive states of consciousness and forms of intuition. These skills could be used for problem solving, dispute resolution, decision-making, scientific discoveries, and artistic work, and for personal, professional, and spiritual guidance
