QL Revisited

Abstract

Quality of life considerations should be central to moral decisionmaking in medicine. The formula QL = NE × (H + S) identifies the central components in determinations of quality of life. Critics have confused the validity of this formal statement and its use as a substantive guide in clinical situations.
