Abstract

Reproductive cloning has been condemned worldwide in a variety of declarations. The 1st additional protocol to the European Biomedical Convention on the Prohibition of Cloning Human Life of 1998 formulates the most sophisticated norm. This article considers the content, problems, and legal-political perspectives of this norm. The article comes to the conclusion that currently cloning should be prohibited because of the health risks for the clone. Nonetheless, reproductive cloning does not violate the clone's human dignity under all circumstances
