Abstract

Joseph Ratzinger, actualmente Benedicto XVI, desarrolló a lo largo de su vida un enorme trabajo teológico, en el cual trató la cuestión del amor desde diversas perspectivas. En este artículo sólo hemos analizado un pequeño número de obras en donde el teólogo alemán aborda esta cuestión del amor, buscando las raíces teológicas de su primera encíclica Dios es amor. Partimos del concepto que consideramos clave en su pensamiento sobre el amor, que es el filosófico de relación, que es aplicado por Ratzinger tanto para el amor divino trinitario como para el amor humano en su doble dimensión: a Dios y al hombre. Dios es comunión de personas, ser en relación, y el hombre, imagen de Dios, es también persona, es decir, relación o apertura a Dios y a los demás hombres. Leyendo con atención el artículo, se pueden encontrar las raíces de la doctrina contenida en la encíclica citada más arriba. Esperamos haber logrado este propósito. Joseph Ratzinger, now the Pope Benedictus, developed along his life a great theological work, in which he treated the question of love in different points of view. We only have analysed in this article a few number of books where the German theologian treats this question of love, searching the theological roofs of his first encyclical God is Love. We begin with the key concept in his thought about love that is the philosophical one of relation, that is applied by Ratzinger as to the divine Trinitarian love as to the humane love in his double dimension: to God and to the humanity. God is a communion of three persons, a being in relation, and the man, image of God, is a person too, a relation or opening to God and to the humanity. If we read with attention the article, we may meet the roofs of the doctrine that is holding in the encyclical God is love. We hope to have got this purpose.
