Abstract

Zubiri’s thought is explained based on his brilliant concept of reality. Reality is unde rstood as a formality, a mode in which things stay with the human apprehender when theyare impinge upon him. In order to understand just what formality is, we must study certain categories which express it in an essential way. These categories are: de suyo [in itsown right], prius, more, towards, and actuality. In this brief essay we shall study only thefirst two: de suyo and prius. In subsequent articles we shall address the others. We believethat it is fundamental to carry out a profound exegesis of these terms, in the light ofZubiri’s mode of philosophizing , in order to be able then toimmerse ourselves in the subtleties of Zubirian philosophy. Everything which can give ofitself this philosophy in the matter of metaphysics, ethics, political philosophy, philosophyof nature, theology, etc. will be possible given an adequate knowledge of these physicalcategories of reality. El pensamiento zubiriano se explica desde una brillante concepción de la realidad. Ellaes entendida como una formalidad, un modo en que las cosas quedan al aprehensorhumano cuando estas se le imponen. Para entender lo que sea la formalidad es menesterestudiar ciertas categorías que la expresan esencialmente. Estas categorías son: de suyo,prius, mas, hacia y actualidad. En este breve escrito solamente estudiaremos las categoríasprimarias: de suyo y prius. Y en otros artículos posteriores indagaremos las restantes.Creemos que es fundamental realizar una exégesis profunda de estos términos, a la luz delmodo de filosofar zubiriano , para poder luego sumergirnos entodos los matices de la filosofía zubiriana. Todo lo que puede dar de sí esta filosofía en materia de metafísica, ética, filosofía política, filosofía de la naturaleza, teología, etc. será posible desde un adecuado conocimiento de estas categorías físicas de la realidad
