Abstract

Both a sizable gathering of early reviews and a broad selection of more modern scholarship. Among the authors of reprinted articles and reviews are Newton Arvin, Ellen Glasgow, Malcolm Cowley, Adrienne Koch, Joel Porte, and Daniel Aaron. In addition to a substantial introduction by Price and Leitz, there are also three original essays--by William G. Holzberger, Herman J. Saatkamp, Jr., and Peter Conn--commissioned specifically for this volume. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR.
