The quality of higher education in the assessments of university students

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of formation of a quality assurance system of higher education in modern Ukraine. Attention is drawn to the discussion about the forms of involvement of students in evaluating the quality of educational services in higher education. Determine that essential tool of monitoring the quality of education is a comprehensive study of public opinion about the quality of education of students in certain universities. Public opinion polls allow promptly receive and assess proposals for educational services from their direct customers, a students from the middle able to notice the shortcomings of the institution, which are invisible to the environment. The article emphasizes that the quality of education depends not only on the activities of teachers and university staff but also from the students. One of the requirements of the Bologna Declaration - attracting students to participate in the evaluation of the organization and content of education in higher education. The analysis of the results of a representative sample survey «Students of Oles Honchar DNU the quality of education at the university» concluded that students are able to assess the quality of education at the university. More accurate estimates and important practical recommendations on the quality of education at the university can expect mostly of seniors. But junior students who do not have enough academic experience, under certain conditions may also provide an interesting guide for teachers and university information. Attracting students to different forms of surveys will certainly promote them developed educational motives, desires competently participate in university life, particularly also in assessing and monitoring the quality of education.
